Chapter 4

Katniss' POV

"Can't we have a break, Effie?!" I exclaim sitting up in my bed. She decided to personally wake me by pulling open the shutters and throwing a pillow at my face, which is unexpected from her.

"Absolutely Not! Now get up! We have a big day ahead of us." She exclaims in the same tone as me.

"So are you going to personally wake Peeta too?" I ask still very annoyed.

"Peeta isn't as stubborn. So no." She says and sashays out.

"Knocking would've been nice by way! Your lucky I sleep clothed!" I shouted and smiled as I heard her scoff.

I stand up and wake with the same dizziness as I also do since the one morning. I take a quick shower and rush out to the dining car.

"Good Morning." I say as I find Haymitch sitting at the table with a huge smirk on his face. "Morning." He says. Breakfast goes by quickly and we follow the same routine.

Cinna adjusts my frilly shirt and stands back. "what do you think?" He asks.

I turn to the mirror to find my hair curled slightly with a mockingjay clip in my hair. I'm dressed in a pair of black pants and shirt with ruffles to look like fire. "Stunning as always. Thanks Cinna." I say. He smiles in return. I sit down since we aren't supposed to leave just yet.

I gasp as I feel the familiar feeling and once again dash out and into the bathroom. I'm really getting sick of being sick. It's bad enough I have so much attention. I slide against the wall breathing deeply once it's over.I hear a knock. "Katniss? Are you alright? Can I come in?"

"Yes." I say quietly.

Cinna emerges and immediately walks over to me and helps me up to my feet. "Katniss. What's wrong?" I shake my head not being able to find my voice.

"I don't know." I say in a raspy voice.

"Does anything hurt?" He asks with a worried tone.

I nod. "My head."

"How long has this been going on?"

I knew he was the person to be honest with. "The beginning of the tour. I would get really dizzy one minute and then be fine the next and then this started."

"Katniss. You need to see a doctor."

"No!"

He sighs. "This isn't normal. And I'm really worried. Please."

I really didn't want to but just to make Cinna happy I agreed. "Fine. I'll go after the tour."

"No. You need it as soon as possible. I can set up an appointment this evening."

"Cinna...." I whined.

"Please. Katniss, this could be serious....."

"Okay. But I'm telling you I'm fine."

He smiles and hugs me gently. "C'mon, we better get going." I groan and walk behind him.

We get off the train and meet with the others before we are ushered on stage. Something about this district seems more intimidating as I stare at the families of Clove and Cato.

"It's once again an honor to stand here today. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for the fallen tributes." Peeta reads his cards and I watch his face twist as he reads the last line.

"To the families of Clove and Cato, they fought hard and couldn't be here today. They brought pride to the district. As that was their intention." I read. Okay, who wrote this?!

"We overjoyed to stand here today. We feel we brought honor and gave district 12 a chance."

We finish reading and get back on the train.

"Hi Katniss." Peeta says sitting next to me on the couch.

"Hi." I mutter.

We were silent for a few minutes before he spoke again. "So...almost done. One more district."

"Thank god."

"Did you find that speech weirder than the others?" He asks.

I nod. "Maybe because it was a career district..?" I suggest.

"I don't know."

"Katniss. They're ready for you." Cinna says walking in.

"Who?" Peeta asks.

"It's nothing, Peeta. Cinna just said I should visit the doctor." I say. He nods.

Cinna gives me a smile before I walk through the remake center to reach the office.

"Ahh Katniss, take a seat." A tall women said. She didn't look too strange but you could tell she was from the capital.

"What seems to be the problem, Ms. Everdean?"

I decided not to be snappy and not to make it obvious I didn't want to be here. "I have been experiencing a few dizzy spells, sickness mostly In the morning, and headaches."

She began writing stuff down. "When did this start?"

"Beginning of the tour."

"Any other symptoms?"

"Not that I know of."

"How's your appetite?"

"Larger yet smaller...if that makes sense." She nodded and continued writing.

"Weight gain?"

"A little I guess."

"One more; Have you been sexually active lately?"

My eyes widened.

I knew the answer.

"Yes."
