Demons

When Philby woke up, he went to go pick up the mail like he usually does, and found something unexpected. He picked up an unusually small letter with one letter on the envelope.

W.

Without a second guess, he left the rest of the mail, and rushed to his room, where there would be some privacy. He locked the door, closed his open window, and tore open the letter.

Kingdom come, a place where magic becomes power.

Listen and you'll hear the answer.

P.S. Have you ever imagined dragons and demons?

Suddenly, he heard a faint knock from his window. He pulled open the curtains, and saw a crouched Charlie and Willa. Charlene held up the same letter Philby had gotten. He unlocked the window, so he could let them in.

"Did you get it too?" Charlene asked, gasping for air.

"Yeah and why are you both here?" Philby asked, confused. "And why are you out of breathe?"

"I went to Willa's house, when I first found the letter. She said that we should come to you, and we both ran here together," Charlene answered.

"Now, what's up with this?" Willa asked, throwing the letter onto Philby's desk. "The whole thing is weird, and the P.S. part is just random."

"Actually," Charlie said, starting to think. "Imagine Dragons has this song called Demons. Maybe that has something to do with it?"

"Maybe. The P.S. part would make sense then, but what does the rest of the letter have to do with that?" Philby said. "Wait, why didn't you think of that before?"

"Well, I wasn't really thinking about it before, and I never thought that Wayne would actually know about that song."

"He's old, not completely blocked from the outside world," Willa said. Charlene gave her a look, and went back to Philby, who was already on his laptop.

"What are you doing?" she asked, peering over his shoulder.

"I'm looking up the lyrics to the song, so the rest of the letter may make sense," he explained.

"Smart," Willa muttered.

"Really? This is Philby we're talking about. He trains geniuses," Charlene clarified, while Willa rolled her eyes.

"Okay, okay. Here we go. It actually says 'Kingdom come' four times in the song, so the 'Kingdom come' part was probably another hint as to what the song was or something," Philby said.

"Yeah, and look at the chorus: 'When you feel my heat, look into my eyes, It's where my demons hide.' and 'Don't get too close, it's dark inside, It's where my demons hide.' Sounds like Chernabog to me," Charlie said. "Chernabog IS pure darkness, and is a demon."

"Okay, so we know that it has something to do with Chernabog, but what about 'a place where magic becomes power'?" Willa asked.

"That could be anything. Everything about Disney is magic. At least we know it's a place." Philby said.

"What about Fantasmic!? There Maleficent uses her magic to turn herself into a dragon. To make her more powerful." Willa explained.

"And Mickey too. He uses magic to make himself more powerful to defeat Maleficent." Charlene added.

"True. Just give me a second," Philby replied, before typing on his computer.

"So, I looked up for any recent news on Fantasmic! or Disney World, and it says that Fantasmic! has been having some audio problems. The shows won't be going on as scheduled."

"'Listen and you'll hear the answer,'" Willa mumbled. "That's it! Putting this whole letter together it would say that the OTs are hiding out at Fantasmic! and they're messing with the audio or something."

"And it has to do with Chernabog, so maybe he's there at Fantasmic!" Charlene said, high fiving Willa.

"I'm having everyone cross over tonight. I have a feeling that this is going to be a crazy night," Philby replied staring at the two excited girls disapprovingly.

Just wanted to say that I'm actually very proud of this entry, because see, the site that I enter these entries to always picks those that Ridley Pearson himself likes and this one was one of the chosen ones! I don't think it's my best work, but if he liked it, then that's fine by me!
