Amber

"Bye sir." I say as I exit my last class before lunch.

"See you tomorrow Amber." Mr O'Clarke answers me.

I walk out of the classroom and make my way to my locker.

My phone beeps and I take it out of my bag and unlock it to read the message I've got from my best friend Chloe.

As I open the message, and start to read it, as my phone is knocked out of my hand and lands on the floor beside the person I walked into.

"I'm sorry." I apologise, quickly glancing at the guy I walked into. "I wasn't looking-" I stop and look up at the guy again, he's already looking at me.

He looks down picking up my phone and handing it to me.

I take it off him, and start to walk away not wanting to talk to the guy who chose popularity and being a player over being my best friend years ago.

"Amber wait." Cayden stops me by putting his hand on my shoulder and turning me around to face him.

"What?" I snap.

Cayden looks shocked at my anger. "I'm sorry for leaving you once we started high school."

"It was bound to happen." I say. "I knew you'd make some friends, so would I. I just didn't think that it would be popularity you'd leave me for." I turn around and walk away going to my locker.

I put my books into my locker getting the books I need out and start making my way to the cafeteria where Chloe and Naomi, my two best friends, are waiting for me.

I walk into the cafeteria, spotting Naomi and Chloe sitting at one of the tables the other end of the cafeteria. I walk over to them and sit down next to Naomi.

"What took you so long? We thought you'd be seventeen by the time you got here." Chloe jokes.

"Speaking of which what are we doing tomorrow night?" Naomi asks. "It's not every year you birthday falls on a Friday."

"Seventeens not even that important, can't we just have a girls night or something?" I ask.

"No way Amber!" Chloe's exclaims. "We are spending your birthday doing something fun."

"Girl nights are fun." I say.

"Not birthday fun." Naomi says. "We are going out and that's it."

"We could go to that new club that's in town." Chloe says.

"Don't you have to eighteen?" I ask.

"As long as we don't buy alcohol off them no we don't." Chloe says. "It's not the first time we've been out clubbing and bar tenders give us drinks."

"And if we are stuck we can get our own." Naomi says.

"You two are such a bad influence." I joke.

"You love us really." Naomi says.

"Not really." I joke. "I can't find any other friend though."

"Amber!" Chloe says throwing one of her grapes at me, but missing and hitting Naomi instead.

"Chlo! You have such a bad aim." Naomi says.
