"Get up." I whispered, shaking Jason lightly. When he didn't even stir, me and Leo shared a glance and with the murderous look on Leo's face all I could do was wait for his next move. He snickered and whispered something in Jason's ear. Instantly, Jason popped out of bed in alarm. Although I had no idea what Leo had said, it seemed to work well enough, I just hope it wasn't too mean.
"You need to get up, Chiron wants to talk with us. Leo and I insisted on you being there, you have a right to know too." I explained.
"But you're okay!?" He slurred alarmingly.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" I questioned.
Jason shook his head, "Something Leo said..." He muttered under his breath, trailing off.
I don't think he knows I can hear him. I wonder what Leo said to him, he seemed really alarmed.
I rid myself of the thought completely, this is not what I should be thinking about right now. I walked out of the infirmary giving Jason some privacy and sat outside the door, staring into the lake. I was located on a particularly hairy rock, and had my feet stretched out onto the lush green grass in front of me.
What are we going to about Rachel, even if we do get a prophecy, or our memories back, what do we do next? Do we have to leave the mortal world behind? What will happen to the 7 of us?
My train of thought was broken when Jason and Leo pushed the door open nearly walking into me.
"There you are." Jason and Leo said in union.
I merely nodded, still haunted by my previous thoughts. Jason stuck his hand down and I grabbed it as he pulled me off the ground. Leo was already on his way back to the Big House. Me and Jason trailed after him. Minutes later we arrived and Leo held open the door as we walked in. I took as seat first, and the two boys followed.
"I see you are back, and I assume you have explained our situation to Jason." Chiron raised his eyebrows while Leo and I nodded. "now let's continue." Chiron mentioned.
"Very well then, I see you have succeeded at bringing Rachel to camp and I gave her permission to enter. Now that she is here she too has a right to know what is happening."
Hazel turned to Rachel and began to explain when no one else volunteered to. Rachel nodded along, it didn't seem too unrealistic, she could clearly see that Chiron was a centaur. After Hazel finished talking Rachel had a look of pure astonishment plastered to her face.
"You all lied to me?!" She clarified, as if it was unlikely we would lie to her. I rolled my eyes.
"It was for the best." I easily persuade her.
She nodded and Chiron began to talk again.
"Ms. Dare, is in fact an..." He hesitated, "oracle."
My jaw dropped, no, no, no, this is not true, can't be, Rachel?! An oracle! She couldn't tell a prophecy to save her life!
"She can see us, see through the mist that is." Chiron explained.
Annabeth shook her head, "No that is not true. Her!" Annabeth pointed at Rachel. "An oracle! We clearly do not know the same Rachel!'
"I beg to differ, I do recall you two being quite good friends."
Now it was Rachel's turn to complain. "I would never be friends with her!" She whined.
Annabeth rolled her eyes and I could see her fists harden, Annabeth could throw a really good punch, I would not want to be in Rachel's position right now.
Suddenly, Rachel's mouth dropped open and her eyes began to spew smoke, interrupting our argument. Her eyes were lighting up too! They had turned a vibrant green color, and where projecting somewhat of a green light. My skin crawled just looking at it. Suddenly her mouth began to move and a deep voice started to speak, it looked light it was her voice!
"To return what once was yours,
Meet me outside of the cave's doors,
Crossing two seas and and finding an island,
That's where I am, scramble to find highland,
You may be swept far away,
The waves are not forgiving on Leap Day."
Suddenly, Rachel turned back into, well Rachel, while the rest of us stood gaping, with our mouths wide open. So she was an oracle?
"Leap day." Annabeth muttered puzzled, already forgetting the previous argument, attempting to piece together the riddle.
"It only comes every 4 years, Leap day, would be February 29. To keep the calendar in line with the astronomical year." Annabeth said recalling facts.
"Leap day is only 3 months away! It's coming this year! If today is..." Leo counted on his fingers. "November 4th we only have 117 days to prepare!" Leo exclaimed. I didn't know Leo could even calculate that quickly.
A everyone else was thinking of plans, ideas, or things we needed to get done, I turned to see Chiron. He looked like he had a headache from thinking too hard, it was easy to see it was all for us.
"Chiron?" I prompted.
Awoken from his daze, the centaur looked up.
"Leo." He interrupted, Leo was explaining to Annabeth how he would make us a ship to fly on. I couldn't help but snicker. I bet you Leo could do it, he was quite the inventor when he wanted to be. Startled Leo looked up.
"Yes?"
"That will not be necessary, seeing as you made one last time. Follow me." Chiron said.
Puzzled we all stood up and followed. Chiron led us out the door and headed towards the woods. As we ventured through the forest I could smell the strong scent of evergreen and outdoors. The crunch of our feet was the only noise I could hear through out the woodland as we continued on our path. Finally Chiron stopped after quite a bit of walking in front of a tall stone mountain thing. He somehow got it to open and beckoned, for what I assumed was all of us, with his hand. However when we turned to walk in. He stopped us.
"Sorry, only Leo can come through here." Chiron added apologetically.
~ Leo POV ~
I wasn't sure why Chiron wouldn't let the others follow us too. We all had to deal with this, it only seemed fair we all interpret it the same, however I didn't put up a fight when he invited me in. Although we were just going through a stone it looked way different on the inside. My jaw dropped in awe.
