Just one week until the wedding and the bride to be and her older sister, the maid of honour, were going to meet her future husband and his best man for dinner at a restaurant. Only a few hours later had they all checked into the hotel and they had decided to meet at some Italian place. The two siblings couldn't be anymore different. The oldest, Caitlin Snow, was a bio-chemist and doctor, she was uptight, stubborn and guarded. Whereas, the youngest, Carrie Snow, was a chef, she was flirty, playful and fun-loving. Carrie's future husband, Matt Summers, was nice enough but sometimes I seemed way too good to be true. And Caitlin hated that, she doesn't hate him per say but wasn't sure if this character. Maybe she was just too uptight...

"Hey babe!" Carrie exclaimed as she saw Matt and ran up to kiss him. Awkwardly, Caitlin walked close behind her and noticed ,who she assumed was the best man, standing behind Matt similarly to how she was. Awkwardly. The too affectionate couple sat down and Caitlin sat in the empty seat.

"Hi, you must be Caitlin, Carrie's sister. I'm Barry Allen" he introduced himself, putting his hand out for a handshake. With a small smile, Caitlin took the handshake.

"Nice to meet you. I hate being the third wheel," she replied. He chuckled as they both looked over at the almost sickening couple sitting at the table who couldn't keep their hands off each other. Turning, her attention back to him, Caitlin asked: "So what do you do?"

"I'm a forensic scientist. I work for CCPD back home. What about you?" He replied.

"I'm a bio-chemist stroke doctor. I work at STAR labs back home but I help my sister with her restaurant. Math isn't her strong suit so I handle the books as well, she sticks to the cooking," Caitlin answered, noticing that his eyes were fixed on hers. For a moment, their eyes met and they found themselves awkwardly gazing into them. Once the moment passed, they finally managed to clear their throats and speak.

"You sound like a very busy woman," Barry tried to salvage the conversation rather than ending it because of the awkward moment they had shared. Possibly, because he felt quite attracted to her.

"Yeah, I don't get to meet new people that often but I do love be my job, I just don't have many friends. My sister's always been the popular one. I'm just the one-year-older killjoy while she's been the cool one," Caitlin trailed off slightly. "Not the prettier one," Barry thought to himself. "Thanks," Caitlin said, blushing intensely. Then he realised he said that out loud which instantly made him blush the same way as she had.

"Can I take your orders?" A waitress asked, just before the situation got to new levels of awkward. The four of them ordered their food. The couple hadn't noticed their conversation as they'd been so caught up in each other. Carrie and Matt were the ultimate public affection couple. It was sickening.

"So Caitlin, are you single?" Barry asked.

"Yes, are you?" She answered sheepishly ,blushing once again. He nodded.

"What are you two talking about?" Carrie asked curiously.

"Nothing!" Caitlin panicked, she knew what her sister was like and didn't want her to make fun of the crush that she knew she was developing.

Later That Night

The four of them had finished dinner and Barry and Caitlin had gotten to know each other very well. As the four of them parted, Carrie and Matt exchanged a passionate kiss. The couple pulled apart and headed to their hotel rooms in different directions. The sisters rooms were next door so they went one way and the two men went in the opposite direction.

As they walked to their rooms, Matt asked: "Do you like Caitlin?"

"Maybe, why?" Barry replied.

"Stay away from her. She's my bride's sister!" Matt snapped.

"What's that got to do with my feelings for her?" Barry questioned, clearly confused.

"Just stay away from her. Or it won't just be your heart that gets broken!" Matt threatened before going inside his room leaving Barry in the corridor. He knew Matt's history with violence but had never been the direct object off his anger, they'd been best friends since college. But he couldn't help the feelings that he had for Caitlin and knew that they would only grow. It's not like he could ignore her, he'd see her everyday until the day after the wedding. Which isn't for another week. What is he gonna do?

Meanwhile...

"So Caity, how do you feel about Barry?" Carrie asked curiously.

"What are you talking about?" Caitlin chuckled, even though she knew she had feelings for him and knew exactly what she was talking about.

"Good because you can't be together. After all, he's my future husband's best friend," she replied happily.

Caitlin wasn't sure what do think. She really, really, really, really, liked Barry and wasn't sure why but felt kinda pulled towards him. Earlier, she thought, that maybe, they could be together, that just maybe, he felt the same way. That moment that they shared was special and just the way that they were able to talk to each other so easily. She felt like he really understood her more than anyone ever had in her whole life. Not even Carrie is that easy to talk to.

Not that Carrie is easy to talk to. Maybe a part of Caitlin was jealous of her little sister, boys chased after her and she was always her parents favourite. And now there's a thing that she wants and it seems that Carrie is trying to take it away. But what could Caitlin do to stop her, she always got what she wanted. Besides, she would go home in a week and then she could forget all about these feelings for Barry. However, she knows that if she's not careful she'll fall even deeper into this trance...
