A Part of Me

JADE

It's been thirty minutes since Pezza left but I'm still here sitting on a chair staring into nothing. I offered her a ride home but she refused, she said that she'll go back to the bar to explain to her boss why she asked for a night off.

I look at my daughter, she's peacefully sleeping on her bed while hugging the pony Pezza won for her. I smiled when I remembered how happy my daughter was. I heard a knock on the door and saw Jesy opens it.

"Hey" she said then quietly close it "How's the fair? Did you guys enjoy it?" She asked again.

"Have a look for yourself" I answered her and point at Penny. Jesy smiles then she looks at me "What time Pezza left?"

"Oh about thirty minutes ago. I offered her a ride home but she refused." I answered and sigh "You seem affected by it"

I instantly look at her and shook my head, Jesy giggles and sit on the bed "I want to drive her home as a thank you for bringing my daughter to the fair. She doesn't know how she made her so happy"

"Did you get her number so you'll know if she got home safe?"

"No. I mean I'm kinda shy to do that"

"Okay but what will you do when Penny wakes up and look for her?" I look at her for a while then to Penny. I forgot all the pain I'm feeling when I'm with Pezza and even forgot about my biggest problem right now.

"I don't know Jes. I wanted to tell her everything, I don't want to lie but I'm afraid it will break her heart into million pieces. I haven't figure out what to do." I answered and run my fingers through my hair.

"You should talk about that with your Mum and brother. You only have two options, tell her the truth and help her heal or live with a lie and let Pezza pretends to be her mother until she reach the right age to understand everything."

PEZZA

I arrived at our apartment 2 hours after I left Jade and Penny's house. I went to the bar and talk to Martin, actually it only took me 15 minutes to explain it to him but I don't feel like going home after.

I'm still thinking about the girl I saw, I don't know if my mind played tricks on me. I decided to walk around town to help me relax a bit before I head home.

I throw my keys on the table, I knock softly on Lucia's door when there's no response, I quietly opens it and saw that my sister is sleeping. I was about to open Maria's bedroom door when the main door opens.

"Oh you're here" she said, I rasied my left eyebrow at her "I told you to be home before me" I said.

"Oh come on Pezza. I worked for a week so I have the right to party sometimes" she answered and smiled at me "Want some coffee?" Maria asked me.
