"Dad, why do I even have to do this? I like girls, and you can't change that."

"That's absolutely right, sweetie."

"So then why are you making me go?"

"I can't change it. But the people at True You can. Here we are. Look, there's some of the other kids going on your session. Take your bag and go talk to them. I'll miss you."

Yeah right, I thought as I stepped out of my dad's truck. I grabbed my suitcase and went over to the other kids.

"Hey, you going, too? To True You?" asked a boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

"Yeah. I'm Evan."

"I'm Trevor." Just then the bus pulled up in front of us.

"Well that's a bit graphic," I said. The bus was painted half rainbow, with splotches of red all over it, and then the other half was black and white with a grey peace sign.

"No kidding," Trevor said. The doors opened and a woman stepped out.

"Hello, bright, young, youths! I am Laurie Nichols, the founder of True You. I too was once like you. I called myself 'nonbinary' and 'homosexual.' But today, I am happily married, have a few children of my own, and a flaming heterosexual. I welcome you all on the journey to the peace and tranquility of being straight. One by one onto the bus, and to the True You campsite we go!"

Trevor and I looked over at each other. There is no way I'm going to straight, ever.
