^Laurie (r) & Pamela (l) Nichols^
When we got off the bus we were escorted (I guess, nobody's really escorted anywhere at a summer camp) to a large building where all 9 of us (and the counselors, the founder, and some other lady, which makes 14) sat around a table.
"Welcome to True You," said the other lady. "My name is Pamela Nichols. I am Laurie's wife."
Trevor raised his hand. "But aren't you supposed to make us not gay? How is a lesbian supposed to make us not gay?"
"That's our cover. At True You, we embrace the true you. Lesbian, gay, bi, transgender, and anything else. Humans are humans. I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but do you know why you are here?"
"Because our parents don't want us if we're like this..." I mumbled.
"If I heard you correctly, you were right. Could you say that again louder?"
"Our parents don't accept us. They don't want us to be any part of their family if we're like this."
"Yes. Now, can we go around the circle and introduce ourselves? I need name, sexuality, gender, and pronouns, please. I'll start. My name is Pam, I'm a lesbian, female, and she/her."
"My name's Kenny Beckett, I'm pan, nonbinary, they/them."
"Hey, I'm Will Baldwin, used to be Willette, straight, f to m, he/him."
"Yo, it's Steve Mills, pansexual, male, he/him."
"I'm Jenny Fabian, pansexual, female, she/her."
"I'm Trevor Murphy, bisexy, male, he/him."
"Cee Mando, short for Tracy, pansexual, and I am librafeminine, they/them."
"Uh, I'm Evan Carter. Lesbian, asexual, female, she/her."
"Harper Hawkins, pan, gender fluid, they/them."
"I'm Greyson Jackson, bi, female, she/her."
"Hey! I'm Lexi, the counselor for the girls' cabin. I am aromantic, male to female, and I use she/her pronouns!"
"I'm Lee Coren, counselor for the other cabin. Pan, agender, they/them."
"I'm the counselor of the guys' cabin, Parker Troy. I'm gay as hell, male, he/him."
"And I'm Laurie Nichols, I like girls, agender, she/them."
"Okay everybody," said Pam. "If you could go meet up with the counselor who uses the same pronouns as you, they'll show you to your cabins."
