I must've hit my head somewhere along the way. I couldn't help but look over my shoulder at the attacker. As soon as I looked away, I forgot. This was an engineering flaw.
My eyes adjust to the disorienting darkness. Water was dripping from somewhere. It was the only sound I registered. Around me was a type of rock known as Szated. It was incredibly strong. Earthly steel bars encage me towards the west. A draft nips at the bare skin of my arms, causing goosebumps to rise.
A figure rises behind me, I pry a chunk of rock loose from the wall and aim.
"Shh." They motion for me to near them. The hand was ebony, with five fingers. Human, or humanoid, to say the least. I edge towards the silhouette, not dropping the rock.
Chocolate eyes bore into me. "Are you alright?"
I bite my lip and nod.
"I'm Uhura." She whispers to me.
"Torah Carys." A shaky voice that I don't immediately recognize as my own responds.
"Torah, you're bleeding." She tells me. I had bit my lip to the point of drawing blood.
"Merely self inflicted." I hushly inform Uhura. "They haven't captured me have they?"
"If by they, you mean the Silents, I am afraid they have."
