Chills run through my body at the sound of the name alone.

"How can you remember the name of the species?" I inquire.

Her dark pony tail swings as she sweeps the area with her eyes. "Former knowledge. I was sent here to try to communicate with the Silents. To no avail obviously. I still have the information file regarding them, if you would like to read it." Uhura whispers.

I nod. In the back of what I can only identify as the cell that caged me, a faint glow emerged.  Uhura hands me a metal file that she unlocks with a pass code, and then a kind of glowing stick.

Time silently ticks by as I absorb the knowledge. I read and read. Every thing fascinated me. Finally, I return the file to Uhura and study her instead.

She was wearing a dress, rather short for my, or the Church's taste. It was blood red, and I adored it, length and all. Her hair was as dark as night. Her eyes reminded me of sweet chocolate, and I could tell she was as sweet as her eyes held.

"Torah?" Uhura whispers. I snap up from observing her.

"Yes?" I say softly.

"Is everything okay?"

I nod, "Yes, I am fine."

"Great, because I know how to get out of here."

I cock my head to the side. Can you even escape from something you can't remember.

" I am ready Uhura." I hushedly inform her.

It happened so quickly, all I could do was what I have always done, follow instructions. Uhura had some sort of device that blasted the bars apart. I followed her as we bolt down the corridor, filled with the stirring bodies of other captives. I longed to rescue them too, but it was not possible at this time. We would surely be caught and the consqeunces severe. Uhura's explosives also gain us an escape route.

The night air catches in my burning lungs. "We've gotta keep going." Uhura calls to me. I have never heard anyone speak like her.  She must be from a different world.  I push myself even harder to catch up to her.

"I am coming." I whisper-shout.
