The girl flustered with the eye contact, and she immediately broke it.

"She is a Korean from Los Angeles. So Dr. Kim, from now on, you will be a leader of Unit B, which is for the emergency surgery." The chief continued.

"She is your assistant, Dr. Bae Joohyun." He added.

Taeyeon looked at the mentioned girl, before widening her eyes. "Irene?"

Joohyun smiled, looking at her.

Well, maybe it is like a cliché story, but Taeyeon met Joohyun who used Irene as her name at LA. They became a very close friend, and after a month, Joohyun needed to follow his father who changed his work place to Korea.

She told her to keep in touch, and also introduced her to Taehyung and Miyoung from the video call. Joohyun automatically became Taehyung and Miyoung's close friend, especially that she enrolled into Jeguk School, the same school with them.

And guess what?

She is Taehyung's fiance.

"It's good if you already know each other. Dr. Bae, bring her to her room right after this." He ordered. Joohyun nodded.

"I hope all the doctors can get along with her. Any question or objection?"

A girl in a very thick make up raised her arm. She is sitting at the second row, so Taeyeon could read her nametag clearly.

Leader of Unit C
Jung Chaeyeon

"Yes, Dr. Jung?"

"Why she got one of the top position even though she is just a new transferred doctor here?" She asked. The annoyance obviously flashed on her face.

Taeyeon almost scoffed at her objection. Wrong move, girl.

"For all your information, Dr. Lee, the previous leader of Unit B has sign a registration for some reasons, so we need a new leader."

"That's when I found her. She is the most well known doctor in Los Angeles, and also the recommended doctor from the top hospital there." The chief explained, slightly proud that he got a doctor like her to be here.

All the doctors there watched her in awe, before clapping supportively, showing their support.

"Bae Irene. I did not know you work here." Taeyeon said to Joohyun while walking with a box of her stuffs.

"And I did not even know you've transferred here." She replied, earning chuckles from both of them. "By the way, stop calling me Irene. We're in Korea."

"Heol, you're the one that keep scolding me for calling you Joohyun five years ago." She said sarcastically, recalling the moments.

"Yeah, that is 18 years old Joohyun. I'm 23 now." She said, rolling her eyes playfully.

They continued to walk until they reached the automatic glass door. Taeyeon used for the modern style of hospital that she worked at LA, so she does not amazed much now.

"This is your room, and my table is right in front of your door, so you can just call me if you need any help." Joohyun said.

Taeyeon looked around, putting the box on the table carefully.

"You can clean up your stuffs first. I'll get out for your privacy." Joohyun said, turning back.

"Wait, Joohyun." She called. "Mind if I ask who is Byun Baekhyun?"

"You mean Dr. Byun? He is the leader of Unit A, VIP treatment. He is one of my classmates too." She raised her eyebrow. "Why?"

"Just asking. I saw his name on the board." She said, hoping that she will buy her lie.

Joohyun nodded, before continuing her steps.

"Why this world is so small?" She murmured, starting to unpack her stuffs.

"Should I request for another hospital?" She mumbled to herself.

"Well, why should I? We both have a new life."

Joohyun and Taeyeon held their trays, searching for an empty table.

"Hey, new doctor!" A male doctor called, and both of them turned to him.

Baekhyun and Daehyun.

If you're confused about where she knew Daehyun's name, it is because Joohyun has introduced all the doctors from the hospital's group picture last year.

"Sit here." He offered, referring to the two vacant seats in front of them.

"Come on, there is no available table anyway." Joohyun said, leading her to them.

Now she hates herself for taking a lot of time to unpack her stuffs. Now they need to share a table with him.

"Thank you." Taeyeon muttered to him slowly.

Baekhyun looked steady, as he was only focusing on his food tray.

"So, mind to tell us more about yourself, Dr. Kim?" Daehyun asked, friendly.

"Well, you should ask me and I'll answer it honestly." She said.

"Then, is it fun living in LA?" He asked randomly.

"Yeah, I think. But I prefer Korea more. Hometown is the best." She said.

"That's great. By the way, you're really pretty to stare by a close up. Do you have any boyfriend?" Daehyun asked, wiggling an eyebrow for a tease.

The question succeeded on making Baekhyun's head snapped up, same time when Taeyeon's eyes turned to him.

They once again shared the unreadable glance, before she looked away awkwardly. "No, I'm still single."

Her answer somehow brought a relieve feeling to him, and his tired mind finally worked up, and he quickly finished his food. "Come on Daehyun. We have a lot of work to do."

Standing up, he bowed slightly to Taeyeon and Joohyun, before leaving with his tray.

Daehyun rushed to finish his, and mumbling afterward. "That is Baekhyun. Too focusing on his work and not trying to get hooked with any girl."

Taeyeon's body tensed up at the statement. Her appetite to eat decreasing, and she put her spoon down.

Guess she is wrong when she thought he already find his soulmate.

Baekhyun read his patient's record deeply, before the door opened automatically.

Taeyeon waited for him to give the permission. He lifted his head, and his expression changed to see her. He nodded, giving her a signal that she can come in.

"Your file ended up on my table. I'm here to return it." She said, handing him a thick file.

"Oh, thanks." He said.

Taeyeon managed to spend five seconds stare at him, and she admitted that he looked quiet cool with the round glasses.

She turned her back to him, probably going to her room back.

"Dr. Kim!" He called, making her looked at him.

As he was opening his mouth, the announcement could be heard.

'Emergency, eleven victims from the fire, Unit B, called.'

Bowing to Baekhyun quickly, she made her way to the emergency room, leaving Baekhyun with the question that he has keptfor 5 years.

There will always be next time.
