Isabella's POV
Ever since the night of the ball I had never been this happy. Thomas Sharpe was kind and charming. I enjoyed his company and looked foreword to his visits to my house. But my father and sister were not happy about Thomas courting me they both thought that Edith was better suited for Thomas.
Thomas POV
She was the kindest person I had ever met. Even Lucille liked her which I found shocking.
"So are you going to ask Isabella for her hand in marriage yet brother? I'm growing tired of this place and I think that it's time for us to go home with Isabella. It's not like those evil people that she calls father and sister will miss her. I've watched how they treat her and they treat her like a stranger in her own home." Lucille said while we were watching Isabella paint near us in the park.
"I know how they treat her and I find it appalling." I said trying not to raise my voice.
"But I still don't think she is the the right choice. She is a young girl, just a child." Lucille said to me unsure.
"You have to trust me of this." I said looking back at Isabella as she looked over at me smiling as I smiled back at her.
"I need the ring." I said holding my hand out for it. Lucille took it off her ring finger.
"When it is finished with I want it back." Lucille whispered in my ear as we walked toward Isabella.
Tonight I would ask for her fathers blessing and bring her back to England as my wife.
