Hi! So I'm really sorry I took forever to update...just a reminder that I do not own the storyline of this book, all rights go to Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, the writers of How I Met Your Mother :)

Meanwhile, back at the apartment, Lily enters.

"Hey!" Marshall shouts from the kitchen window leading to the living room, following her in.

Lily sighs, "I'm exhausted. It was finger painting day at school and a five year old boy," she says, showing her white blouse with a purple hand print on her chestal area, "got to second base with me."

He gives out a chuckle. "Wow, you're cooking?"

"Yes I am." Marshall replies, smugly.

"Awww," she walks up to him and plants a kiss on his lips, reaching up on her tiptoes, "Are you sure that's a good idea after last time? You looked really creepy without eyebrows."

Laughing, he replies with, "I can handle this, you'll find I'm full of surprises tonight."

"So there's more surprises? Like what?" Lily smiles, excited for the night ahead.

Marshall was in his second year of Law school, so he was pretty good at thinking on his feet.

"BOOGEDY BOO!" he exclaims, holding out his hands towards his head, "and that's all of them..." He pauses, realising how bad he had just gave away that there was more to come of this night. "I'm gonna go...cook." He says, walking into the kitchen.

Back at the bar, I was still talking to Yasmeen. We had moved from the bar to a table to have a better conversation, it just ended up with me talking gibberish.

"I'm so happy for Marshall, I really am. I just couldn't imagine settling down right now." I explain.

"So do you think you'll ever get married?"

"Well, maybe eventually." I pause, "Some fall day...possibly in Central Park...simple ceremony, we'll write our own vows...band, no DJ; people will dance, I'm not gonna worry about it!" I laugh. "Damn it, why did Marshall have to get engaged?"

Yasmeen giggles, confused as to why I was telling her everything stored in my mind from today.

"Yeah, nothing hotter than a guy planning out his own imaginary wedding, huh?" I look down, smiling.

"Actually, I think It's cute."

"Well you're clearly drunk," I lift her glass of champagne up, "One more for the lady!"

At Marshall and I's apartment, Lily had taken over cooking, which left Marshall sitting on the counter.

"Oh hey, look what I got." He proclaims, rushing to tickle Lily and search the fridge. He acquires the bubbly bottle of champagne and lifts it up to her face.

"Oh, honey! Champagne!" She beams, handing it back to Marshall.

He glances down at the cork, motionless. "Yeah....." he states, handing it back to Lily.

Sighing, Lily rolls her eyes. "No. You are too old to be...scared to open a bottle of champagne!"

"I'm not scared."

"Then open it!"

"Fine..." He glares down again, hesitating, "Please open it?"

"Gosh, you are unbelievable Marshall..." This led on to Lily lecturing Marshall on his way of not being able to open the bottle.

There are two big questions a man has to ask in life, one you plan for months, the other just slips out when you're half drunk at some bar.

"Will you marry me?" Marshall kneels on one knee, eyes filled with hope.

"Do you wanna go out some time?" I say to Yasmeen, certain that we'd hit it off.

Lily's mouth forms into the shape of an O, "OF COURSE YOU IDIOT!" She leaps onto him, them crashing onto the living room floor.

"...I'm sorry...Carl is my boyfriend." Yasmeen points and I inspect the bar area to find a pair of cold eyes belonging to the bartender.

"Sup Carl!" I wave, point and smile.

At our apartment, Lily and Marshall were incredibly excited for their engagement, a little too excited for that matter.

They both simultaneously sit up from the kitchen floor, hair sprung in every direction, smiles plastered all over their faces.

"I promised Ted we wouldn't do that." Marshall sighs, exercising his neck from side to side.

"Ah. Did you know that there's a poptart under your fridge?"

"No, but dibs. Where's that champagne? I wanna drink a toast, with my fiancé." He grins, kissing Lily passionately as she stands up.

"I dunno why I was so scared of this, it's pretty easy, right?" Marshall attempts to pop the cork, resulting in the cork to pop and aim directly for Lily's eye. She screams, portraying her pain.

Barney had joined me at the bar after I was brutally rejected and discovered that my 'date' was already taken.

"Why am I freaking out all of a sudden? This is crazy, I'm not ready to settle down." You could tell Barney was not listening to a word I was saying.

"How did Carl land a Lebanese girl?" He proposes in wonder.

"The plan's always been, don't even think about it until you're 30." I look down, sighing in awe.

"Exactly. That guy doesn't even own a suit!"

"Plus, Marshall's found the love of his life. Even if I was ready, which I'm not, but if I was, it's like, okay, I'm ready! Where is she?"

I looked across the dim lit bar we were in to find a brunette woman wearing a green sweater with silver hoop earrings, laughing at her friend. And there she was...
