Chapter 4

==>Have A Bad Dream<==

You were running through the battlefield, feet hitting the wet ground and leaving tracks behind. You heard the yelling of the Grand Highblood's goons behind you. You saw arrows flying next to you and you looked behind you just in time to see a spear hurdling towards you. You tried jumping out of the way, but you weren't able to move your legs in time. The spear went straight into your leg, taking you down. But what you and your attackers failed to notice was the cliff in front of you. The perspective made it seem like it wasn't there. You tumbled off the edge and landed on a hard surface with a loud crack.

Then you woke up.

You awoke with a loud gasp and sat straight up, hitting your head against something in the process. A thump sounded next to you, followed by groaning and laughter from the other side of you. You held your forehead in pain and opened your eyes.

Sollux was face first on the bed next you you laughing loudly and Karkat was on the ground holding his head in his hands in pain as well.

"2o, we came two... Two 2ay we made breakfa2t, but you 2eemed two be haviing a bad dream, 2o we... We 2tayed iin ca2e you woke up neediing u2, but you hiit KK iin the head wiith your own face." Sollux said between laughs.

"THAT FUCKING HURT!" Karkat shouted from the floor next to you.

"So you came to say you made food and I hurt him?" You asked Sollux, as Karkat was in too much pain to respond at the moment.

"Pretty much, now, who want2 two eat?" He asked happily.

"Me, but I have to change, so can you both get out, please?" You asked the both of them.

"2ure. We'll be iin the kiitchen. Come on KK." Sollux said, dragging Karkat out of the room by his ankles, despite his loud protests and cussing.

After you had gotten changed into some clothes that Sollux had given you, you walked into the kitchen and immediately smelled pancakes and something sweet. Honey was definitely there, but there was something else.

You walked over to the kitchen table and pointed out some red berries in a bowl.

"What are these?" You asked Sollux and Karkat.

"Strawberries. The humans gave them to us. They're pretty good if you think that sour and sweet, two very opposite flavors, should combine to one sickly red fruit." Karkat responded, handing one to you, "Here. Try one."

You took the red berry from his hands and went to take a bite.

"Just don't eat the green leaves at the end." He said, taking a bite of his pancakes.

You took a bite and smiled. It wasn't as bad as Karkat had described it. It wasn't too sour.

"2o? What do you thiink?" Sollux asked you. You nodded and then started giggling at his appearance. He was wearing a white chefs hat with a bee sewn into the front. He also was covered in flour. He smiled when he saw you laughing. Karkat also didn't seem as angry for once. He didn't smile, but he didn't frown either.

Suddenly the door burst open and two older trolls walked in. One had a yellow helmet on, and you immediately knew that this must be Sollux's "Older brother" Mituna. Next to him was a female with red glasses on and was holding a skateboard. They walked in laughing then stopped walking when they saw you. The one who you thought to be "Latula" smiled.

"So Sollux, finally got yourself a matesprite?" She said, then giggled a little at the end. She walked over and shook your hand.

"Latula. And you are?" She asked, "Y/N. Nice to meet you, but I am not his matesprite. I just stayed the night because I don't have anywhere to go." You responded.

"I'm Mituna! Nice to meet you, Y/N!" The other said, giving you a hug. You giggled and hugged back.

"Well, I'm going to be with Mituna playing some games! Don't wreck the place!" Latula said and took off with Mituna to his room.

"They were nice!" You said to Karkat and Sollux.

"Yeah. ii gue22. They can be kiind of iiriitatiing though." Sollux said, shrugging.

"Well hey, at least they're nothing like Kankri." Karkat said to Sollux.

"2o, we're goiing two iintroduce you two a bunch of our a22hole friiend2 today. That okay wiith you?" Sollux asked.

"As long as they're nicer than Vriska." You said nervously.

"They are, don't worry." Karkat said.

"Good." You responded with a smile.
