"So, (Y/N)... how's the girlfriend then?" John asked, taking his fork and shoving a piece of steak into his mouth.

"Girlfriend?" Sherlock looked up. "Girlfriend?" He said again.

"Yes, I'm bisexual."

"Dammit I guessed wrong."

"You never guess." John said cockily after he finished his bite. He earned a glare from Sherlock.

"Sorry... guessed?" I said, picking up my fork and eating lettuce.

"Deduced." I nodded. "I can read people."

"Yes, Mr. Holmes I know what deducing is." I said almost too quickly. I could always read people in a different sort of way. I thought that everyone could do it. Turns out I was just a freak like everyone said. "So, anything interesting then?" I smirked, putting my fork down and folding my arms.

"Yes, (Y/N), tons actually."

"Huh. I thought I would be boring." I remarked, dragging out the O.

"You're a young girl that just witnessed a murder. Clearly from your stance I can see that you are not very confident and your self-esteem is rather low, you slouch and drag your feet against the pavement. You're very skinny, but you have an eating disorder, bulimia or anorexia. You take pride in your appearance, straightening your very very curly hair everyday, it's a nuisance, but hey, whatever makes you feel pretty. Your mum had a drinking problem, your dad left when you were merely a child. You have one sister and that's it, you were a team, nothing could keep you apart, but then she went to college and you lost touch. Scratch that, she died. Didn't she? Cancer... Lung Cancer, she was quite a smoker wasn't she? You were so devastated when that happened that you ran away from home and lived in hotel rooms for a year, and when you turned 18 you came to London for a fresh start and then all of a sudden someone gets murdered and... well here you are." He looked at me when he was done, I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. My fists clenched themselves. My heart started to pound. No one had talked about my sister for a long time.

John coughed awkwardly, finishing his meal as he looked up at me. I pushed the tears away and all of a sudden I was filled with a certain confidence when he looked at me. My fists unclenched. I leaned my elbows onto the table and put my head on my hands.

"Wrong."

He looked up from his meal, smirking. I chuckled a bit, making him giggle. John laughed awkwardly.

"Which part?"

"Eating disorder and the running away part." He smiled, and my cheeks turned pink. He had a really cute smile.

"Eating disorder was a shot in the dark anyways. Sorry about your sister. Happened recently I suppose, no one would react like that if it happened a long time ago.

"About a year ago. Once again, I'm overreacting-"

"No!" He cut me off, almost yelling over everyone in the restaurant. He blushed and I covered my mouth as I giggled. "No, you're not."

"Alright then, Mr. Holmes." I nodded, still giggling.

"You never answered my question." John said, rubbing his neck shyly.

"Sorry John! She broke up with me."

"Oh I'm sorry! Shouldn't have brought it up."

"It's fine." I said as the waiter brought our check over. "Plenty of fish in the sea."
