Hey! Sorry it's a lot of a time skip in this story; we're skipping to John and Mary's wedding. So lemme catch you up a bit... IN THE WORDS OF SHERLOCK FRICKING HOLMES DUDE
---
Sherlock's POV
A few months had passed by since John's return into our life, and Mary's. Mary and John were getting married in a few weeks, and (Y/N) and I had to rehearse for our dance.
Our relationship was going well, we never fought, we kept on solving cases and we spent a lot of time on us; both emotionally and physically.
"It's okay, you've got this." I said reassuringly, readjusting my grip on her waist so I could guide her. "You've done this before."
"I know, I know... I'm just nervous." She looked back at the MP3 player that was loudly playing the piece that I composed for the wedding. "We're not even going to be dancing to this in the wedding, why now?"
"Because I enjoy dancing with you. And it's nice to see you blush when you mess up." She blushed, looking up at me with sweet eyes. I kissed her cheeks that burned with electricity. "C'mon, it's simple. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four." I started counting to her as she looked down at her feet. "You're going to have to be looking at the person you're dancing with."
"I'm not going to be dancing with you?"
"Bridesmaid and Best Man... kinda traditional."
"Since when have you followed tradition?" She giggled, not even taking a second to look up from her feet.
"My darling, look at me." I coaxed in a voice I knew she couldn't resist. She looked up at me with her glowing (e/c) eyes, glistening in the burning sunlight. "Count with me."
She huffed and forced herself to look at me, knowing that she had to learn this so she wouldn't make a fool of herself at the wedding. "One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four." She smiled when she finally started to get it.
"That's it!"
"Yay! I'm actually-" I cut her off by holding her out and spinning her around. "Sherlock! You gotta warn me!" She said, squinting her eyes in attempt to make herself look more intimidating, but it only made her look cuter. She huffed when she saw me snickering at her. I pulled her back to my chest so she was facing the other way.
She was shorter than me, so I bent down and placed gentle kisses on her neck. She brought her hand to my cheek and traced them with the tip of her finger. "I love you." I mumbled into her neck as I heard Ms. Hudson coming up the stairs. I didn't want her to walk in on... you know.
"I love you too." She whispered, turning herself around so she could face me. She stood on her tip-toes and placed a kiss on my lips just as Ms. Hudson was walking in.
"Shut up, Mrs Hudson." I sneered smartly, slightly annoyed that she would walk in on (Y/N) and I.
"I haven't said a word."
"You're formulating a question. It's physically painful watching you thinking." (Y/N) slaps me across the chest lightly, giving me a fake look of annoyance and looking back at Ms. Hudson.
"I thought it was you playing." Ms. Hudson said, placing her tray of tea down onto the table.
"It was him playing. Beautiful isn't it?"
"He's quite the player."
"Why are you here?" I asked, a bit more firmly than I intended. I was really trying to work on being less cocky.
"I'm bringing you your morning tea. You're not usually awake."
"You bring me tea in the morning?" I asked, walking over to my chair and sitting down. (Y/N) comes over and sits down on my leg, wrapping her arms around my neck.
"Where the hell do you think it comes from, love?" She asks sarcastically, throwing a wink back at Ms. Hudson.
"I don't know. I just thought it sort of... happened."
"Your mother has a lot to answer for." Ms. Hudson sneered after pouring the tea, while (Y/N) threw her head back and laughed.
"I want to see your parents more..." she said in between giggles. Ms. Hudson brung over the tea and placed it down on the arm of the chair.
"Mm." I mumbled, sipping the tea. She rolled her eyes and placed a kiss on my cheek as I sipped my minty tea.
"So... it's the big day then!" Ms Hudson giggled, sitting down on John's chair.
"What big day?"
"The wedding you stupid git. John and Mary are getting married!" (Y/N) giggled.
"Two people who currently live together are about to attend church, have a party, go on a short holiday and then carry on living together. What's big about that?" (Y/N)'s smile faded and she looked down at the ground. Shit, now she thinks I'll never marry her.
"It changes people, in ways you can't imagine."
"As does lethal injection." I said, slightly waving my tea cup around. (Y/N) gave me an actual annoyed look on her face. She got up from her spot and walked into the kitchen. I would have to right that wrong later.
"Aren't there biscuits?"
"I've run out."
"Have the shops? I'm sure the shops on the corner are open."
"I really am going to have a word with your mother." Ms. Hudson said sassily.
"You can if you like. She understands very little." I sneered, watching her walk out, getting the biscuits I asked for.
(Y/N) looked back at me from the kitchen, she was leaning over the kitchen island, tracing her finger along the pattern of the granite.
"(Y/N)."
"Is that how you feel about marriage?" She turned to face me, leaning her back against the counter. "Honestly, or is that just what you said?"
"I- I don't know how I feel... yet... (Y/N). I love you so much, you know that. I'm just getting used to these feelings... I know that I love you, I just don't know... I just..."
"Shhhh... Sherlock. I understand. Sorry for overreacting." She said, walking over to me and kissing me.
"Right." I said, kissing her back as she straightened by suit jacket.
"Into battle." She smirked at me and grabbed me hand, walking me down the stairs.
"Into battle."
