It was the big day, the last one for Maya in New York.
"Maya I know it's gonna be hard, but stay strong" Shawn said, crying like he never done before. "Shawn calm down" Maya chuckled. "It's gonna be okay and he ain't gonna hurt me anymore because I'm a strong fierce woman you know that?" She said smiling, they were at the airport, and it was time for her to go in her plane. "Okay.. I love you Maya.. bye" he said giving her a last hug. When she went into that plane at her seat, she just cried and called the one and only Lucas.
"Hey Lucas.." she said wiping her tears off. "Hey Maya... you're on your plane right now ?" He asked "yes I'm on the plane, it's cool in there... how are you ?" "Well I'm fine, I've been waiting for you to call me, I miss you" he said, he sounded sad. "Yeah I'll miss all of you guys.. will you check on Shawn like I asked you to ?" She asked, very concerned. "I will don't worry, I'll talk to him and yeah.. We will probably talk about you each time we see each other" "Maya?" Lucas asked. "Yes Lucas ?" "Call me anytime, but if you don't want to call me when you're not okay then call me at least once a day" he said concerned. "Don't worry Lucas, I will" she said smiling at herself. "Bye Lucas, see you soon" Maya said before she hung up.
"Aah it feels good to be on that plane !" A guy, probably same age as Maya, said as he sat next to her "Yeah it's not the same for everyone you know" she awkwardly said, looking at him. "Maybe but I'm seeing my long distance girlfriend for the first time, I'm beyond excited to finally be able to touch her". The boy said chuckling. "I'm Maya, nice to meet you" Maya said showing her hand. "And I'm Evan, your friendly mountain guy" he said smiling, Maya's smile grew. "Never saw a mountain in New York before" Maya chuckled. "That's because, sweetheart, you've never been to the sun ski lodge not that far from New York" he sais smiling. "Excuse me but you have a girlfriend" Maya said laughing. "Yeah I know, and I love her. We met over Instagram and here we are, meeting for the first time" he said daydreaming. "How about you, why are you coming to California ?" Evan asked looking back at her after a long sight. "I'm going to see my father after what seems like.. like 7 years of not seeing each other, he's an abusive guy he wants to hurt me.. but I don't have a choice now" Maya said looking at her feet. "Girl ! That's not normal, why are you going to see him if you know he's gonna hurt you ?" Evan asked in disbelief. "Because.. I don't know okay ?! I also want to visit my mom's grave and to be alone for a while" Maya said, being annoyed. "Oh... I'm sorry for your mother" Evan calmly said. "No it's okay I mean.. I've been through a lot and always found a way to get myself out, I'll do it there too, I just need a little something" she said looking outside as she plane was going faster and faster. "What's this little something ?" Evan asked as she was looking outside as well. "It's someone that I thought would change for once, but didn't, but he's a really sweet boy and I only realized it two weeks ago and now it's too late" she said looking back at her feet. "You still like him ?" Evan asked, Maya sighted and rubbed her knees then looked at him. "No, no I don't like him, but I thought that I could help him, it's who I am, for my whole god damn life I helped people and now it's too late to go back god damn it !!" Maya suddenly yelled "I'm sorry. I'm not in the mood right now" she quickly said. "The flight is going to be interesting I feel it.." Evan said as he relaxed on his seat and slowly closed his eyes.
