Chapter Six
Anthony was standing in front of his flat. He was simply reorganising his thoughts and feeling. He was confused. He admits that he really was tired of becoming a sex slave for his step-father and becoming the only shoulder his step-father can only lean on, but he wouldn’t want to become worse that a bloody swindler that caused Lucas’ disaster. He wanted to think all about Science and his formulae that he had to complete before the month ends and forget about his personal problems, but sadly, he couldn’t.
“Anthony,” came a soft voice from behind. Anthony closed his eyes when he heard the seemingly soothing voice that broke the silence. Suddenly, he could sense the entire world. He felt that there was a young lady a few feet behind him and Jane on the threshold of his flat, looking at them. Then, Anthony felt peace…inner peace.
He slowly opened his eyes, as if he just had a great power rushing through his veins, but actually he already had that ability long ago, just hidden. Anthony turned to see Sophia in a plain white sundress and Jane by the doorstep, as he had expected. Sophia was looking at him back with deep eyes that conveyed a lot of message, feelings, and everything else.
“Tell him the truth,” said Sophia before she gave him a little smile and went inside.
After Sophia disappeared in his vision, he felt weird. When he came out of his flat, his problem was very heavy, it was distressing, but after hearing what Sophia had said, his load on his shoulders began to disappear like magic. Perhaps, telling Lucas the truth might solve his problem.

Jane had tried to stop Sophia from entering Anthony’s room. She had feared that the young maiden would be harassed by the paedophile, especially when he was drunk, but Sophia had reassured her that she would be safe, as if there would be a special force that will calm the drunken man.
“Sophia,” gulped Jane, “I’m not sure on what you’re doing, but please, get out of here before he gets wild.”
“Worry not, Jane.”
Sophia sauntered further into the room and sat on a chair beside the bed. She grabbed the damp towel on Lucas’ forehead. It was cold due to the air-conditioning. Sophia noticed that his brows were furrowed and he was uneasy. She quickly held his hand and held his index finger. After that, she left.
By the time she and Jane left the room, Jane asked, “Why did you hold his hand?”
Sophia then ran to the thick book, she was studying Psychology. She turned to Jane with a little smile, “It opens a good memory. My hand was surely too small compared to his hand, so I was thinking I can open his memory of having his first child.”
“Only child,” corrected Jane, completely hiding her amazement.
“Yeah, still child. Well, babies hold their daddies by their index finger, right?”
“Dun’no, but I agree.”
Sophia then smiled.

Lucas woke up in Anthony’s bed, feeling sober and fine already. He glanced at his left hand, which had been touched by Sophia early on, and sniffed the alluring scent that the maiden had left. It smelt like a scent that Lucas had smelt before.
Mr. Paton stood up and walked toward the door.
Anthony walked in, wearing a reserved countenance. The latter cleared his throat and faced the physicist. “Lucas,” said Anthony, breaking the silence.
