Astrid! i had forgotten about her completely, somehow during the middle of all this she had vanished from plain sight. I started to fire at the enterptise they were completely under my control. I walked away fromt he chair in search of the Scott girl. Why had I forgotten about her?
"Astrid?" i called softly. I walked toward the place that I heard scared breathing coming from. My shadow covered the sitting figure of the girl. Astrid defensively put her arms over her face,I kneeled down beside her, gently moving her arms away from her face.
"Are you okay?" I asked. Astrid looked up at me, she was afraid and I saw it in her eyes. She quickly nodded
.
"If I scared you I didn't mean to. I won't hurt you I swear, you are like family to me" I said trying to comfrot her
"You remind me of my brother, I miss him" she sniffled burying her head into my chest. I was surprised by this, why would she tell me this?
"You've been through a lot, I'm surprised you are so strong. When my crew and I get together I want you to be our engineer" I said hugging her. For some odd reason she was special to me and I had no idea why. I got up and went to the Captains chair.
Suddenly, there was an explosion tha jerked myship around causing me to fall on the chair
"NOOOOOO!" i screamed in rage as the torpedos exploded. My plan had failed. I had failed, this whole game of cat and mouse had twisted against me.
"Set destination to Starfleet head quarters" I snarled.
" Engines compromised. Cannot guarantee destination.Confirm order?" The computerized voice of the ship said.
"Confirm" I said breathlessly. The ship started to fall faster, I looked over to see Astrid, there was a expression upon her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked. She was crying and looked utterly terrified
"M-my knee" she whimpered. I held onto her as we got closer to crashing into the Starfleet head quarters
"I'm sorry I drug you into this Astrid, but you will be okay I promise" I said shielding her as we crashed. The loud sound of crashing metal scraping against the metal supports sounded, as we crashed through the buildings, Astrid pressed her head against my chest closing her eyes We stopped, I felt a breeze going through the shattered glass of the bridge, Astrid attempted to put weight on her injured knee but ended up whimpering in pain.
"You can't walk, Astrid you have to trust me. Okay?" I said picking her up bridal style. I was attempting to keep her injured knee from hurting anymore then It was.
"Okay" she said softly.I walked towards the open hole in the glass, and to her horror i jumped out of the ship. Astrid screamed as we fell toward the ground, squeezing my neck tightly, I landed on the ground perfectly, totally unaffected by the jump.I started walking through the streets and the people in the streets. When out of the corner if my eye I saw the halfbreed.
"Khan?"Astrid said softly.
"What is it?" I asked .
"Please be careful, I don't want you getting hurt" She said. I was surprised she cared this much, I let out a long sigh, knowing I probably wouldn't see her again.
"Don't go" she whimpered on the verge of tears.
"Don't worry Astrid, I'll be back soon, I promise" I said gently, leaning down and kissing her cheek then running off. I was not going to be captured by a halfbreed and I would make it so we could meet again.
