We all came into the canteen and had a huge breakfast . I had my favourite , eggs , toast and tea . Tiny and Ernie shared the toast with me . "Ok , guys line up please" Freckles ordered . We did so . He held up a small device . "We can track your heart rate from this while we are in head quarters so we know if you're.... you know ..... dead . We all looked at each other . Him and Rose went around and tied it onto our arms . "It also beeps if you are about to ..... die" Rose said . "I will never die" Purry boasted . "You'll never know" Freckles said . Purry hung his head slightly . "Ok , Kate can you organise them" Rose asked . I stepped forward . "Ok , Purry , you can go at the back because you are used to this stuff and you can do your own thing but you still have to stay in sight of the group " I explained . "I'll have to mind the weaker ones" I whispered . " I heard that" screamed Ernie . I smiled . "Peanut , you can go with Purry" I said . "Ah , no , not with him" she said annoyed . "Listen to me , the only way we are going to survive is if we all work together" I said firmly . Peanut snorted . I gave her a stare . " None of us are going to die" I continued . "Ernie , Nelly and Roxie and Buddy can go with me and Tiny " . "Here's a headset so you can keep contact with headquarters" Rose explained giving it to me . I put it into my ear . "Now , I think we're ready" I said looking at everyone . They cheered . We went outside and climbed over the gate . "Will we even get out of Ireland today" asked Tiny . "No, we won't even get out of Kilkenny today" I said as we walked . Everyone in their cars looked at us and smiled . I smiled back . "Right , we're going to walk the block first" I said . "Puhh , that's simple" Roxy said . "Ah , it will get harder" I said . "Can't wait till we're out of the country" Nelly said . I giggled a bit . "Can we go into the garage and eat something" Buddy said . "We've only just eaten" Ernie said . We walked around the block . "This was Mum's clinic" I explained . "Wow , I remember you're mum" Roxie said in a sad voice . "Can we go in and see" Nelly asked . "It's not even open" Tiny replied . "Don't worry" I replied pulling out a lock pick from my pocket . "Yay" Nelly cheered in a baby voice . I picked the lock and opened the door . We went inside and into the reception . It was still the same . We went to Mum's office . "Wow , this is very nice" Peanut said . "Ye" I said remembering mum working in here . I suddenly felt intense sadness . I could really see her sitting in her office chair . I could also imagine her walking around the clinic very clearly . "Come on guys , let's get out of here" I said . Everyone followed me upstairs and outside . We finished our walk and stopped outside my aunty's house . "That was fun" said Ernie . "Ye , well it will get more fun" I said . We walked down to Newpark Hotel . "We'll come here when it's closed" I said . "We'll have fun in there" Roxie said . I smiled at her . "Let's go down town first" I said . "Yay" they cheered . Purry and Peanut just climbed trees as we went along . We finally got into town and there was a closed shop . I think they were adding some new stuff to it . I looked back and there was no one on the street . I quickly picked the lock and we went inside . "I think we should go up that stairs so no one will find us" Nelly said . "Good thinking , Nelly , but I don't think it will take my weight" I said . "Ah , stop worrying" Purry said . "I'll show you how its done . He ran up the stairs like it was no bother . The rest copied him . I walked up quickly but suddenly the step sank a bit . I gasped . "Katie" Nelly screamed . "I'm fine" I reassured her . I got up onto the loft and then the whole stairs collapsed . "How will we get down" Tiny said . "We'll just jump down" I replied . Tiny stared at me wide – eyed . "Let's rest up first though" I said yawning . Everyone leaned against the wall and Ernie lay on my knee .
