Saved By Andrew

Four

     I start to wake up in the recovery room. I look down at my leg and see it in a cast.

    "Hey Mars!" Andrew says beginning to stand up and walk over to my bed.

   "Hey Andy!" I said feeling super nauseated.

   "I'm gonna go get the nurse. I'll be right back." He told me then left the room.

     He came back a few minutes later followed by a nurse.

    " Hey sweetie. How are you doing?" She asked.

     "I'm in a lot of pain." I answered wincing as I tried to get up.

     "We'll get you a prescription for some pain medicine and as soon as you're ready you can go home."

     "Thank you so much." Andrew said sounding relieved.

     The nurse walked out of the room. Andrew shut the door and came and set on my bed.

     "I think you need to come stay with me at least until your leg heals." Andrew said suddenly getting serious.

    "Andrew you know I can't do that. I have to stay home. I have to make sure Damon has everything. I will be ok I promise." I told him grabbing his hand and giving it a squeeze.

    "Marlowe. Please I can't see you getting hurt like this. What if he kills you? What happens then? I can't loose you not like this." Andrew said while holding back tears.

     "You're not gonna loose me. I can promise you that." I said unable to hold back my tears any longer.

    Andrew just held me. We set there for about 10 minutes before I pulled away.

    "Can you tell the nurse I'm ready to go?"

    "Yeah." And with that Andrew got up and left.

    He came back into the room with a nurse who was rolling a wheelchair. Andrew picked me up, set me in the wheelchair, and started pushing me.

    "Thank you so much for helping me!" I said smiling at the nurse.

    Once we got out to the car, Andrew picked me up and set me in the passenger seat.

    "Andy where's my phone?" I asked once we were on the road.

   "It's in your bag." He said pointing to the back.

    I grabbed the back and searched for my phone. After about 2 minutes of searching I finally found it. I entered my password which was Andrew's birthday and went to my contacts.
 
     "What!?" I heard him scream on the other line.

    "Hey Damon. I just wanted to let you know that I'm gonna be staying with Andrew for the next couple of days." I said my voice shaking the entire time.

   "Can we stop by my house? I need to get some clothes."

   "Of course." He answered grabbing my hand.

   When we pull up at my house, Andrew got out and handed me my new crutches. We walked into the house and up to my room. Lucky for us Damon wasn't home.

    "Sit down and tell me what you need." Andrew said grabbing the suitcase out of my closet.

    "Just the necessities." I answered smiling.
 
    Andrew started packing my stuff. After about 15 minutes he was done.

    He picked up my suitcase and then me and carried us to the car.

   "You ready? You need anything else?" He answered making sure I had everything to get through the next 2 days.

    "I think I'm good. I'm just happy I'm finally getting a break from Damon." I said letting out a sigh.

   After about 10 minutes we get to Andy's house.

    "Hey sweetie!" Andrew's mom, Mrs. Jay, said.

    "Hey mom." Ever since my mom left Mrs. Jay has been like my mom. She doesn't know about Damon though. She thinks that he's just always away on business trips.

    "Mars is gonna stay with us for a few days. Is that ok mom?" Andrew asked hugging his mom.

     "Is Damon away on business again?" She asked shaking her head yes.

     "Yes ma'am. I think he said he had to go to Italy this time." I lied.

    Me and Andrew headed up the stairs to his room. When we got up  there, I layed on his bed. He put on a movie and came and laid in the bed with me. I started to drift to sleep.

    "I love you, Marlowe. And I won't ever let anything hurt you."
