I sat next to Hunter. It was lunch. Then Nia walked over to us. She looked at Hunter, then she sat down. “So how you liking school so far?” Nia asked. I looked over to her. “That good?” Nia said.

“I had some werewolf sniffing me in 2 classes, a witch followed me for 3 passing periods, and oh yeah some vampire wanted to suck my blood,” I said. Nia’s mouth dropped, and I could feel Hunter shaking next to me. I looked over to him. His face was red, and he was trying not to laugh. “It’s not funny!” I complained.

“So this is really happening?” Caulli said as she sat next in front of Hunter. Hunter grinned.

“They’re actually pretty cool Cal,” Hunter said.

“Fine. So how are you liking LHS?” Asked Caulli. I shrugged.

“It’s ok,” I said.

“Hey, I thought mermaids, like the rest of us were weak in the first couple of months after discovering the truth?” Hunter said.

“We are,” Nia said.

“Not Meredith. I’ve never seen anyone so capable and aware of their powers,” Hunter said. They all looked over to me as I lifted a burrito to my mouth.

“What?” I asked.

“That means she’s the powerful one?” Asked Caulli. Nia responded something. I stopped listening, because for some reason everything had gone quiet and my eyes found a pair of gray ones walking into the cafeteria. It was the vampire who had his locker next to mine. Hunter had said his name was Noah. He smiled over to me, and I felt myself blush, but I still couldn’t look away. There was something about him that I couldn’t ignore. Maybe it was his enchanting gray eyes, or his wavy brown hair that I was just itching to run my fingers through. Suddenly there was someone standing in front of me. I looked up and saw a pair of dark blue eyes glaring at me. It was the werewolf from math. I sighed.

“What do you want?” I said annoyed. He looked down at me, then over to Nia, then back to me.

“I don’t appreciate the fact that you hypnotized me,” he said mad.

“Buddy, she didn’t hypnotize you, she SEDUCED you,” Hunter said. Which only made me blush.

“Whatever, that needs to stop,” Werewolf said.

“Then don’t smell me anymore,” I said, matching his tone. His expression changed then he took the seat next to me.

“Maybe you shouldn’t smell so damn good,” he said as he moved closer to me. I quickly shoved him off.

“Back off buddy,” I said mad.

“Dillon, knock it off,” Hunter said.

“What are you gonna do about it bitch, oops I mean witch,” Dillon said.

“Asshole,” Caulli said mad.

“Just go,” I sad and I shoved him with more force. Dillon wound up on the floor, and everyone in the cafeteria laughing.

“Now STAY....good boy,” Hunter said. Suddenly the strong muscular Dillon was gone, and in his place was a wolf with black fur, and sharp teeth, as well as cold blue eyes. He snapped his mouth at me and I jumped back. He growled and I tried to control my fear. The entire cafeteria had gone quiet. I saw movement from the corner of my eye. It was Noah, and then there was some other werewolves walking towards me. I quickly turned to Dillon, fearing the worst. I looked at him with what I knew was a perfect pout, that always made my parents give me what I asked.

“You’re scaring me,” I mumbled suddenly the ferocious animal was gone, and in it’s place was a worried Dillon. He moved closer to me, and I snapped back. “GO,” I said as I pointed to the door, then he quickly left. I sighed in relief, then I realized everyone was watching me.
