"Morning Mac" Pete Malloy said sticking his head into the sergeant's office. He looked up "Oh morning Pete! Hey I've got a favor to ask of you actually"
The strawberry blonde walked further into the office as Sergeant MacDonald looked over some papers. "How would you like to break in the new rookie?" Mac said after a few seconds.
Malloy shrugged "If you need me to" "Oh no no... I just thought you might want this one. Really promising... top of their class" Mac stretched out his hand to give Pete the papers
Pete gave a suspicious look as he took them and started to read. He smiled as soon as he saw the picture.

"Pardon me Miss but you're a bit too cute to be hanging around a police station." Erika jumped at the voice and spun around. She almost fainted with joy at seeing the familiar face but she didnt. Instead Erika tackled Pete to the ground in a massive hug.
They had seen each other only last week but it felt like a lifetime to them.
Pete laughed not really caring who was watching. This was his precious little niece. His princess. His. Of course Erika wasn't actually his niece but her father had been like a brother to him.
"You never even told me you were training" Pete said standing up. Erika jumped up as well "Well I didn't know if I was going to make it plus I wanted it to be a suprise"
Pete looked shocked "Now why wouldn't you make it? You’re the best officer I know" The new officer laughed as she said "Uncle Pete I've only been an officer for two minutes!"
"No. Remember when you were little? How you would dress up? You were better than me, your dad, and Mac combined."
Erika looked back on the bitter-sweet memory and smiled. "Yeah... those were the days huh?" Pete smiled too. "Well you don't want to be late to roll call your first day. Come on, You can sit next to me and Reed."
Malloy draped his arm over her shoulder as they strolled down the hall to their destination.
