"Here you go Mac. Reports made up by Erika Lasky herself" Pete smiled as he layed the papers on MacDonald's desk. Mac gave him a quizzical look "Pete I... I heard that she came in holding her side and with a bruise on her cheek. What happened?"
Pete shrugged "The guys got a little rough is all. She really did a gre..." Malloy trailed off seeing that the sergeant was looking down at his desk. "Pete. You've got to remember that she's so much smaller than you guys! It's only her first day and she's already hurt"
Pete stayed silent. He didnt want to see Erika get hurt but he also didn't want to to see her turn away from him because he was babying her.
Mac was there too... when her father had been killed. Only, Mac stepped into his place as sergeant leaving harsh feelings between the two. The sergeant still wanted to look out for her but they hadn't talked for so long that he just wasn't sure how to anymore.
"Don't worry Mac we'll take care of her. And.... I think she's adult enough now to realize it was something you had to do" Mac smiled slighty.

Jim had left the break room to do something but Erika hadn't paid attention to what. She was still quite happy about the way things turned out. You might not be so lucky next time though T.T. she reminded herself.
The sound of a door opening broke through her thoughts. She only glanced up for a second but it was a second too long. Erika didn't know it yet but she had made eye contact with the comedian of the LAPD. Ed Wells.
Jerry Woods trailed behind Ed as they went to another table close by. "Hello" she called cheerfully. She knew most of the officers from her father but these were two she hadn't met.
"Hi" Jerry said turning around in his chair to face her. "Erika Lasky" "Jerry Woods. This is Ed. Wells?" Ed looked up "Ya gonna say hello?" Wells grinned but it wasn't the grin Jerry wanted to see.
Oh boy. Jerry had learned his lesson from the last female officer but it appeared that Ed hadn't.
"So do you always wear purple blush?" Ed commented. Erika unconciously touched her cheek. "No. Had to break up a bar fight." She answered proudly. "Mmm must have been fun... standing in the background" her smile evaporated "Did you get hit by a paper ball?"
"No..." she responded slowly "I was thrown across the room if that's what you mean..." "Ed-" "Uh huh. Are you Wonder Woman or something? A freak?" Ed teased. "Are you a leprechaun?" Erika teased back seeing that he was short compared to everyone else.
Jerry let out a laugh but was quickly silenced by his partner's glare. "I wouldn't be talking-" "Then why are you? Unless of course that's a secret... like where you hid your pot of gold"
"Now you listen here little Miss three foot nine....."
