It's a hard knock life- chapter 1

Hai my name is Stephanie Maria Rosalie Fuentes Preciado. Yes I am Vic and Jaime's daughter. They adopted me when I was five years old. I don't really like the name Stephanie, so they call me Effy, or Mari as daddy Jaime calls me. I have natural dirty blonde hair that is currently dyed dark red. A natural dark red not fire truck red. I have blue/gray/green eyes. Everyone seems to love my eyes, but I hate them. I suffer with depression, self-harm and anorexia, but no one knows that, not even my dads. Well here's my story.

*12 years ago* (ᎬffᎽ)

I was getting ready for my first day of kittygarden, when Mrs. Milbury came into my room.

"Stephanie, I have got some great news for you today!" She told me cheerfully.

"What is it?! Are we going to take a rocketship to school?!" I asked excitedly.

"No" Mrs. Milbury chuckled. "Some people came and they want to adopt you!" She smiled

Mrs. Milbury walked out of the room for a few seconds and I heard some faint talking in the hall.

Then two men came in. One had long curly brown hair and the other had spikey hair like a hedgehog.

"Hi there Stephanie, my name is Jaime." The spikey hair guy told me with a smile.

"And my name is Vic." The other guy said joyfully.

"They seem so nice, maybe they'll be better than my other mommy and daddy..." I thought to myself.

"Are you guys going to be my new daddys'?" I whispered quietly.

Vic and Jaime kneeled down to my level. Jaime put his hand on my shoulder.

"Well we would like to be." He smiled.

"Are you okay with that?" Vic asked.

"I would love that, but you won't be like my other mommy and daddy, right?" I quivered.

Jaime picked me up and looked me in the eyes. "Baby, we would never hurt you." It looked like he had tears in his eyes too. I put my head on his shoulder hugging him. Vic joined in on the hug. At that moment I felt truest safe.

"Would you like to sign the papers now?" Mrs. Milbury chimed in.

"Oh right, of course!" Vic and Jaime said at the same time.

"I'll go sign the papers, you help Steph pack up." Vic told Jaime before kissing him on the cheek. Jaime set me down.

I grabbed my Mickey Mouse backpack an suitcase. Jaime helped me fold my clothes and I packed them. When we were done I looked up at him and smiled.

"Thank you mister Jaime."

"You can call me daddy." He grinned as he handed me my Simba stuffed animal. I hugged him.

"I love you daddy." I smiled.

"I love you too princess." He whispered kissing my head.

Vic and Mrs. Milbury came back into the room.

"We're all set." She said

An with that, I walked out of the orphanage with my new daddys'. I couldn't be any happier!
