"Well if you're gonna call me 'January' then I should call you 'September' it's only fair."
"Why September?"
Evangeline laid back down next to me and began stroking my cheek with he thumb.
"Because that's the month you were born. And you make me feel like home when the leaves fall on the ground back at my mom's house. Where I felt safe and warm. September."
"I'll take it." I pulled her into me and wrapped my arms around her.
"Let's not get up okay?" She asked me.
"Okay." I said, "we can stay here."
We stayed in bed for about a good hour or so. It was like time never moved for us. Even though it was.
Suddenly I felt time move as Evangeline pulled away from me.
"What the fuck am I doing?" She got up pushing the covers back and started getting dressed.
"Whoa, where are you going?"
"Home." She snapped, "I'm your fuck buddy not your girlfriend. Stop acting like we're in love."
"But what if I am?"
Evangeline looked back at me. "What?"
"What if I told you I was in love you? That I am in love with you?"
Evangeline looked at me with disbelief and shock in her eyes.
"You're a dumb ass September." She put the rest of her clothes on and stuck a joint in her mouth and slammed the door behind her.
