"It's g'nna be okay, Honey-Bee," the curly brunette whispered soothingly as he threaded his gentle, stubby fingers through his small best friend's hair as the unwelcomed tears raced down his rosy cheeks and clumped his thick lashes.
Freckles dusted his delicate cheeks and nose as they stood out on honey licked skin; complimenting his eyes that were just a tad darker than brown sugar. His head was resting comfortably on Joshua's shoulder as he welcomed the comforting feeling of soothing fingers softly scratching at his scalp and pulling him closer.
"I don't like it when they fight, Jishwa," the smaller boy mumbled in a tone so sad Joshua was sure it would make the brightest of skies grey. His heart was heavy in his chest as he held the smaller boy to his chest and pressed the sweetest of kisses to his forehead; hoping to comfort his distressed love.
"I know, Honey-Bee, but sometimes momma's and daddy's quit loving one another, that's what my momma said," Josh mumbled sadly as he brought a chubby finger up to wipe away tears that are rolling down Tyler's cheeks.
Tyler silently nodded as he clumsily climbed to his feet and away from Josh's arms; cautiously walking to Josh's bedroom window and looking out at his house across the street as Josh's words replay in his head.
"Will you always love me, Jishwa?" Tyler mumbled in the most delicate of tones as he let his eyes wander to the older boy sitting on his bed and watching him.
"Always, Honey-Bee."
