You woke up the next morning, got ready, and you ran down to the pie shop, to see Mr.Todd mopping the floors. You smiled and waved as the bell to the door rung upon opening. He smiled his somewhat crooked yet charming half smile. You looked around the room. "My, it's getting brighter and prettier already."

You hummed a tune while putting more of your ingredients and silverware away. "So... Have you always been here in London?" You asked.

Mister Todd stopped. "What?" He asked.

"Y'know, sir, have you always lived here in London?"

"Well... it's a rather complex and long story-"

"I have time," you said, pulling him by the sleeve to sit across from you. He gulped, looking into your (Y/EC) eyes. You stared back into his empty, blank eyes that disturbed you to the point of a shiver running down your spine.

"Well-... I grew up here as a boy. And I met a lady who I fell in love with deeply... Lucy, was her name... She had all this beautiful, yellow hair. And eyes that could kill, madam. She surely was beautiful," Sweeney said. You nodded.
"Now there was a man... Judge Turpin. He was modest and apathetic. He sentenced children to death for Christ's sake! But... He saw that my Lucy was beautiful, and so he removed me from London as a prisoner to steal my Lucy from me. So a few months ago, I moved back. I was horrified to see he was still here, but- well, he left... I suppose... Nobody's seen him for a while," Mr. Todd said, pausing.

"He left," he said, sternness in his voice.

"What happened to your Lucy?" you asked softly.

"... She took a poison," Mr.Todd said , tearing up madly. "... And that killed her," he added.

You rested your hand on Sweeney's empathetically, noticing the pain on his face. "And here I was thinking you weren't capable of such an emotion as love," you said, trying to brighten up the room.

His jaw drew tightly clenched. "May I interest you in a haircut, quite possibly...?" He asked sternly.

"A haircut?"

"Yes, doll, a hair cut," he said, a wicked smile spreading across his face.

"Oh... Um, no thanks, really. I've been trying to grow it out, actually..."

"Ah, but just a trim, my dear. It will only make it look and feel healthier," he said, grabbing your wrist firmly, pulling you up to the barber shop. Your heart was racing. You stared at the awful smile on his face, fearing for your life. All of this happens right when you think he's opening up to you.
