Hitomi's POV

It's been a while since I've been with the Akatsuki. To be honest, I've missed them for so long. Being in another village and finding friends just wasn't the same. These guys always made me feel better. No day could be boring with them.

Something whizzed over my head and exploded a few feet away from me.

Yep. No day could be boring with them.

I heard clattering, crumbling, screaming, and more explosions in the next room. Even though I've only been back for a few days, I'm already annoyed by the sudden burst of noise. Why did I bother to return to this chaotic place, I'd wonder, constantly, at that.

I pulled the covers over my head, in an attempt to block out, or at least muffle, the noise around me, but to no avail. I could just strangle them right now, but I was way too tired to do that. I groaned in annoyance under my soft blankets and mumbled about all the different ways I could kill them.

I think they just broke a wall.

Pulling down the covers so I could take a peek out of my-now broken-door, I saw the smoking ruins of the kitchen. Then I looked over to where the sound had been coming from and sucked in a quick breath as I stared at the gaping hole that used to be a wall of my room.

Oh hell no. Nobody messes with my stuff and gets away with it. I yanked off the sheets and hopped into my shoes, storming out into the hall, ready to give them a pice of my mind. I summoned some of the earth and caught the troublemakers in an earthen fist before pinning them to the wall and leaving them there. All this in not even a blink of the eye.

"Oh come on, Hitomi, un!"

"You pretty much asked for it," I sniffed, brushing off some dust from my shoulder.

"Thank you Hitomi-chan!"

What.

"Tobi doesn't have to die early now!"

...

When somebody disturbs my sleep, the thing I want most is to make their lives miserable. I let go on the earth, dropping them both to the ground. "Can you resume, only quieter, and maybe with sharp weapons, not bombs? I'd love to see you two bleeding all over the ground after you're worn out."

They both stared at me, silently, like, 'Hitomi, what the hell?'

I stared back at them, and said. "Yeah, for real."

"Well, look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed, yeah." Nope. The earth rose up and punched him in the face. "If it were up to me, neither of you would be alive right now."

"Ow."

Tobi stood up quickly and ran off, away from Deidara and I. "You should go and follow, if you don't want to be stuck upside down, dangling from the ceiling for three days." He rolled his eyes and walked toward his room, rubbing his cheek. "As you can see, I'm not a morning person," I called after him.

"Ya know, if you weren't a little kid, you'd be half dead right now," I heard.

Oh nah.

NAAAH.

The earth rose again. A smacking sound was heard.

"Ow!"

I was satisfied. Then Kakuzu-san walked by. He stopped and looked at me. "You know, you're gonna have to pay for that." "Pffft, I can fix it." He rose an eyebrow. "Everybody judges me for my size and age!" I stood up and started to make the earth patch up the walls and damages. "Watch me prove that a little kid can do a lot more than you think!"

Wiping a bead of sweat from my brow, I looked at my work. Pride surged in my chest, for once. It looked better than I had expected. Now I just needed some paint to cover up the extra blemishes on the walls...

Aye.

Did we even have paint?

Who to ask...

Hm...

Ah! Sasori-no-Danna has to have some!

I rushed to his room, slamming open the door. "Sasori-Danna!" "Who-oh. I do believe you have better manners than that." I stared at him, then shut the door, knocked on it twice, and opened without waiting for a reply. He sighed.

"Do you have any paint?" "..." "The guys were fooling around again and I had to clean up for them." He nodded, this being pretty much an everyday occurrence now. Over there," he replied, pointing in the direction of his puppet-making supplies. "Thanks."

Taking a reasonable amount of paint, I rushed outside, making sure to shut the door behind me.

I'm gonna feel so accomplished after I finished.

Grabbing the brush, I rose the ground under my feet to begin on the top of the wall, and worked my way down. They're gonna be surprised when I'm done. Very surprised.

-Some time later-

I did it.

I finally did it.

Carelessly throwing the brush back into the last bucket of paint, I walked back to take a good look at my masterpiece. I folded my arms over my chest and sighed. I was originally going to paint something bold and flashy, like a sunset, but I settled for the night sky.

It was probably unnecessary to paint a picture on a perfectly fine wall.

Oh well.

I mentally shrugged, and wiped some paint from my hand onto my pants. Then I realized how dirty I had gotten my clothes.

Man!

I began to clean up the mess on the ground, picking up the empty buckets and throwing them out. Nobody had bothered to enter the kitchen during my "working process." I wonder if they were hungry. I finished cleaning up and ran to find a shower to refresh myself.

That was hard work. Now, I'll just hope nobody ruins it while I'm gone. It's about dinner time. Let's hope for the best.

~•~•~

That was the best shower I had taken in a while. Drying off my hair and stepping out of the room, I walked into my room to take a short nap.

I deserved this.

I could've just made the guys do the work in my place. It was their fault in the first place. But I had taken to time and effort to do something for them.

They should be grateful.

And amazed. Because even I have to admit, the new kitchen wall was a masterpiece.

I jumped into bed, pulling the covers over my head and getting comfortable. I curled up and passed out in exhaustion.

After a nice nap, I jumped out of bed, rubbing my eyes and yawning lazily. I slipped into my shoes and got off. I trudged out of the room, half asleep, but still quite happy. At least, as happy as I could be. I was pretty content with how the day had gone.

I made my way to the kitchen, ready for an evening snack and a quick look at the beautiful piece I had painted earlier. Then I saw it.

"Oh, gods above!" I groaned, stamping my feet. I was ready to kill someone. The kitchen wall had somehow crumbled down again, and now my masterpiece was gone. I was absolutely seething with rage. All that time and hard work...for nothing?! Those two are going to be lucky if they're still breathing after I'm through with them.

"Hey, kiddo, calm down," Kisame-san chuckled nervously. I didn't listen.

"HELL NO," I yelled, as I grabbed the largest knife in the kitchen and stomped my way over to find the two morons.

"DEIDARA. TOBI," I growled, raising the knife over my head.

"WHERE ARE YOU?"
