Angie jumped out of her vehicle and ran over to the car she just hit. She looked inside at gruesome scene. "Oh god" she whispered. Zack got out and moved towards her. " I...I think they were normal" she said to him her voice cracking in fear. "I murdered someone, I Mur...." Her voice trailed off as a tear rolled down her cheek. Zack wrapped her in a hug and pulled her close "Stop, no you didn't" he said trying to avoid looking into the wrecked car. "You didn't see them, it's not your fault. Come on we need to go" Angie nodded and walked towards the truck but not before taking one last look at the man and woman. "Were they a couple?" She thought to herself as she buckled her seat belt. "Were they married before everything went too shit? Had I just murdered a possibly friendly couple? Were they siblings?" These thoughts swam in her head as she backed up and drove around the car. Zack reached over and laid a hand on her knee "Are you ok?" He asked squeezing her knee lightly. "yea" she mumbled "I'm fine." He pulled away and stared out the window. Angie wasn’t fine, she kept seeing the two people, she couldn't help but let a tear fall onto her leg. She pulled over and broke down crying. Zack wrapped an arm around her shoulder "Hey it's alright." He said in a soothing voice. She kept crying with her head in her hands. "So many people killed or taken to who the hell knows where." She managed to say through her tears. "I know it's been hard but it's getting dark and we need to go, would you like to switch seats?" He said as he glanced out the window. Angie nodded, stepped out of the truck and moved to the other side while Zack slid across the seats. The minute she got in and closed the door, Zack started down the road.
*9:35 pm*
They arrived at an old house way out in the country. It was light brown with a dark brown roof, most of the windows were boarded up or close to being boarded. Angie was fast asleep in the passenger seat. Zack pulled the truck around too the back of the house and pulled the key out. "Angie" he whispered "you gotta wake up" Her eyes opened. "What the hell do you want." She shouted at him. Zack smiled at her reaction. "You gotta get up so we can go in." Angie's gaze fell on the house and she smiled "Home, we're home." She yawned and got out of the truck. "We can grab everything tomorrow, I'm too tired to do it now." Zack said as he shut his door. They walked up and went inside the house. "Man it's really late" Angie said as she shut the door "Can't wait to get some sl-" As she turned around she ran into Zack's hand which was now clamped over her mouth. She was just about to bite him when she realized the sound of footsteps coming from upstairs. They pounded right over their head then over to the staircase. A figure appeared at the top of the stairs. Zack stared at it with fear and anger. "Why us, why did it have to happen to us." He thought in his head while Angie quickly thought of something to do. The figure stepped down one of the steps and Angie grabbed Zack's arm. As the figure went down another step she loosened her grip on his arm. "Are fucking kidding me Ash!! You scared the shit out of me!" Ashley walked down to the bottom of the staircase laughing hysterically. "You should have seen your face it was hilarious!" She said still laughing like it was the greatest thing in the world. "Ha ha very funny, guess what, now you're stuck with bringing everything inside from the truck." Zack said glaring at her. She stopped laughing and returned the same look "You're no fun." She said as she stomped out side. Zack shook me off his arm and walked upstairs to is room and slammed the door shut. Angie walked up behind him and went into her room, shutting the door as quietly as possible. The minute the door shut the thoughts of the two people she killed flooded into her mind and tears blurred her vision. She slumped to the floor and pulled her knees close to her chest. "I killed them." she thought to herself, "I killed two people, they're dead because of me." She got up and moved to sit on the edge of her bed. The two people made her think of her best friend and brother whom were buried out in the field under an old oak tree. "What have I done?" She whispered to herself as she pulled a pocket knife out from under her mattress. Zack laid on his bed staring up at the ceiling as he listened to Ashley walking in and out of the house cursing him every so often. "Complain all you want, you deserve it!" He yelled to her. "Fuck you Zack!" She yelled back. Angie sat on her bed blood on her knife and dripping from her arm forming into a small puddle on the floor. "It's over." She whispered to herself before falling to the floor.
