Angie awoke in a field, she sat up and quickly glanced around. There were no houses or anything in sight for that matter. The field itself was flourishing with bright green grass that was soft to the touch. She was speechless because she hadn't seen grass so green in years. The sun was slowly setting and created a beautiful light show of colors that flickered and danced. Angie stood and a folded up piece of paper fell out of her pocket. She bent down, grabbed it and opened it. “This was the world when it was new. It is a beautiful sight to take in and everyone would have been able to see it if they hadn't destroyed this world. Which is why they all must pay with their lives.” Almost as if someone hit a switch, the beauty was gone and was replaced with the destruction. Smoke filled the skies from fires that lit the night sky, screaming was coming from all over. This was the day the gates opened, Angie was terrified. “No not again.” She cried as she slumped to the ground and covered her face with her hands. The hot wind carried a whisper just loud enough for her to hear. It was a scratchy voice, but seemed kind. “This world was once a beautiful place. Animals thrived and plants grew to their limits, but you puny humans took it over and claimed it as your own. You assumed that because of superior intelligence you could just have it all and do what you want with it.” Angie felt a hand rest on her shoulder but she couldn't move. She was stuck, frozen in place. “I've been watching for years, waiting for the day all you humans will screw up, and you finally did. All i had to do was dangle something you have never seen before in front of your face. You opened the gates and unleashed every last thing in hell.” The hand moved and Angie was able to move again. She quickly stood and looked around. She was standing outside of a hospital which she recognized. She quickly dove into a bush next to her as a car drove up. Four people stepped out of the car and walked up the stairs. “Alright remember we meet back here in an hour.” The boy said as he walked towards the door. “Okay Josh, we know the plan.” One of the females said. The whisper returned “Two of these four make it out alive. You hit their car and nearly kill them. The two that survive don't matter much to me, it's the other two that do.” Angie watched them enter and waited a couple of seconds before following. Inside she could hear the pairs talking as they went their separate ways. She decided to follow the ones that she had never seen before. As she rounded the corner, the main doors squeaked open and claws clacked on the ground. Angie followed the two as quickly as possible without them knowing she was there. They headed up a staircase and into the first room on the next floor. She watched as the two searched every inch of the room without saying a word to each other. The female picked up a hammer that was sitting in the corner and hid it behind her back. “Hey Ron, think you can check that cabinet. I'm afraid to.” She gave him puppy dog eyes and puffed her chest out. Ron smiled and moved to a cabinet that was low to the ground. He opened it and started looking through. She raised the hammer above her head and smashed it into his. He dropped to the ground in pain then was hit again and again. A pool of blood formed around his head. Angie turned away trying not to make any noise. A crash echoed through the building as if something had fallen over. After a few seconds the girl started talking. "Hey Josh, we heard the crash everything alright?" she stopped for a second then started speaking again. "Hey Josh you there?" "Cindy? Anyone?" There was silence for a few second then the radio crackled to life. “Cassi...lis….one in...uilding...our way.” She walked into the hall still holding the hammer, Angie hid in the shadows. “What did you say? I couldn't he-” In the blink of an eye, the beast was on her. She let out a scream right before the beast bit down on her neck leaving the whole building in silence. “She deserved to die. In her past life, before everything went to hell, she was a murderer. She would lead men to her home and kill them. Burying their bodies in other people's yards.” Angie sat in silence as she watched the beast take over her body and walk back towards the front of the building. “Not everyone is how they seem. Cindy and Josh are one of the few i let live and you almost killed them.” She stood and was in a completely different area. She realized she was at the house where the man had taken her and held her hostage. The dogs were barking, but not at her, they were barking at a creature that stood outside the window. The men were sitting with guns waiting for the right time to move. The creature smashed through the window and swung at the men taking them all out. “These men, between all of them, raped a total of thirty-five women. Whom were never seen again.” She was moved again, this time to an area outside. She could see a truck and a woman standing behind it. “Robin.” Angie mumbled to herself. A shadow moved across the open field towards its victim and slowly formed into a physical form. The thing took over Robin’s body and she started walking towards the water where Angie had found her. “This woman had five children, three of them she gave up for adoption and the other two she drowned by tying bricks to their feet and putting them in the lake she is heading to right now.” Her eyes filled with tears as she watched Robin walk through the trees. Angie rubbed the tears out of her eyes, when she stopped she was in the room where they had her strapped down and were cutting her open. “Now these people i had nothing to do with. These people were all you, you have a gift that not even I know where it came from.” Angie watched as the lights when out and the barking started. She closed her eyes and the barking stopped. She was back in the field with the beautiful sunset lit up the sky.
