You tapped your fingers on the counter as you waited patiently for your boyfriend Luke. He was on tour at the moment but he was back in your home city for one of the tour dates. He’d promised to pick you up at 7 to take you out somewhere so you could spend some time together. That was almost two hours ago though. As your little cuckoo clock chimed 9 your patience ran out and you picked up your phone, dialling Luke’s number. The familiar Aussie voice answered, with the sound of laughter in the background. You could immediately tell he was out with the boys.

"Where the hell are you?" you asked, trying to conceal the annoyance in your voice.

"Oh I’m just out with the lads," he simply replied. "What you ringing me for?"

You could barely stop yourself from throwing your phone across the room. You knew immediately what had happened. All the other boys were in one of those “hyper” moods and Luke had joined in, completely forgetting about you.

"I guess our dates cancelled then," you replied, barely audible as your throat closed and the tears gently fell down your face. As you hung up the phone you could hear Luke’s "NO WAIT!" but it was too late. You shuffled into the living room and slumped onto the sofa, flicking the telly on hoping to forget about Luke forgetting you.

A few hours later….

You were suddenly woken up by a cold chill. You looked up to see your front door wide open. You immediately panicked, jumping from the sofa and grabbing an iron poker from the fireplace. You quietly tiptoed to the door, clenching the poker in both hands.

"Wow I know you’re angry but you’re really going to use a poker against me?" you heard a familiar voice behind you.

Even though you knew who it was you still jumped around and lashed out with the poker, causing a yell from Luke.

"What was that for?!?" he shouted.

"What was that for?!!" you mimicked mockingly, the anger in your voice totally giving away your true feelings. "I haven’t seen you in 5 months and the one night we get to spend together you just hang out with the boys like you do every night! I thought I meant something to you!!" you screamed, throwing the poker on the floor at Luke’s feet.

As your head slumped forward and the tears fell, you could Luke’s feet step carefully over the poker and kick it to the side. You then felt his strong arms around you, pulling you in close. You put your fists against his chest and hit out as hard as you could, pummelling Luke over and over as he just stood there, taking every hit and holding you close. Your strength soon gave out though and you fell forwards into his chest, your tears staining his shirt.

"I’m sorry," he said as you continued to cry. "I shouldn’t have let you down like that. This is all my fault. I’ve done the one thing I should never do. Hurt you. I’m not supposed to do that. I’m supposed to protect you from the people that want to hurt you. I’m supposed to tell you everything’s ok when you say it’s not. And I’m supposed to hold you like this, and just let you let everything out. I’m so sorry Y/N." You couldn’t help but cry even more at how sweet Luke was being. You both just stood there, you clinging to Luke’s chest as he gently rubbed your back. After a while you tilted your head up, looking directly at Luke who’s own eyes were red, with a few tear trails leading down his cheeks. "I suppose I forgive you," you said, a small smile appearing on your face. A smile broke out on Luke’s face as he gently kissed your forehead. "Come on beautiful how about me and you cuddle up and watch our favourite film." "Monsters Inc?" you questioned, as Luke lifted you up bridal style and carried you to the sofa. "Of course," he replied as he sat himself down with you cuddled up with him on his lap, where you remained for the rest of the night watching Disney films and spending long awaited quality time together.
