A/N: I think we all know where this is going...

Congrats to niesbixby for guessing who the girl was! (Hattie from Ella Enchanted, by Gail Carson Levine!)

LEGOLASPOV

"I'll get you!" I growled, leaping towards the she-Elf.

"No you won't!" She laughed, stepping away. The pale sunlight filtered through the windows and made her deep brown hair shimmer.

"Tag!" I ran forwards and brushed against her arm.

"No tagbacks!"

"No rules!" In the empty hallway, we ran around, just enjoying the solitude and break from everyone else. When we returned, though it was fairly loud with different conversations, many eyes were on us.

"We've been gone for nearly half an hour." Anodien whispered into my ear.

"Rumors are going to spread like wildfire."

"If anybody says something of the sort, I'll rip their liver out." She said flatly, twisting a strand of her hair. I did feel bad about the situation. Anodien was unfamiliar with social situations, so any prolonged period of human interaction stirred her agitation.

"Ah, Legolas! I trust that you are well! You looked absolutely darling in that costume!" A young lady approached Legolas- the same one from before.

"And you..." She turned her head towards me, the obviously fake curls of her hair bouncing. A Man couldn't tell, but Elves could. "I hadn't had time to introduce myself. I am Lady Hattie, a name I'm sure you know well." Hattie curtsied grandly, panting with the effort. Her dress had been designed to show as much skin as possible, and revealed a fair bit of cleavage.

"No, I can't say I've ever heard that name." Anodien remarked. Hattie's face reddened.

"Oh, surely you are jesting?"

"One would hate to be your acquaintance." Ouch. "And I truly resent this conversation."

"Who, pray tell, are you of importance?"

"Princess Anodien Darksong, heir to the Unseelie Fae Court and Undying Lands, daughter of King Atar, Master Mage, and ten times less of a twit than you." Anodien retorted. Hattie shrank back, her wig fallen off center.

"Y-your Highness! I hadn't realized it was you!" Hattie stuttered, and Anodien snorted.

"Shock me and say something intelligent."

"His Majesty must at least allow me to have this dance..." Hattie licked her lips suggestively and placed a hand on my own chest. This needed to end, now.

ANODIENPOV

I could not believe what this little snitch thought she was! I despised using my title, but I had no choice. My pride prevented me from just walking away.

"Princess Anodien Darksong, heir to the Unseelie Fae Court and Undying Lands, daughter of King Atar, Master Mage, and ten times less of a twit than you."

"Y-your Highness! I hadn't realized it was you!" The golden-haired freak returned her attention to Legolas.

"Shock me and say something intelligent." I spat as the idiot grappled for an excuse, and finding none, resorted to throwing herself at Legolas.

"His Majesty must at least allow me to have this dance..." She stroked Legolas' chest, and I didn't waste a second in grabbing her hair.

"You'd better let go now or I'll rip this piece of crap off and throw it into the fire." I threatened. Hattie's eyes widened.
