I've really enjoyed writing this story for you guys! This is the last chapter of Twelve Days... and I better hear some jaws dropping and mobs outside my house...
Who else has noticed that far too many fairytale princes go around kissing dead/sleeping women???

THRANDUILPOV
"Yaah!" I snarled at the Fae King, clawing for his neck. He sidestepped and struck my back. I moved quickly and retaliated with a swift kick to the chest, and he stumbled back.
Atar coughed up blood and charged again. I waited till the last moment and dove aside, tripping him. He hit the ground, and I heard bones crack. I quickly put him in a headlock and twisted. The King fell to the floor. Dead.
LEGOLASPOV
Sunlight reflected into my eyes off the bright white snow, waking me up.
"Oh, no! Caronai, wake up! Caronai!" Her eyes fluttered.
What? My horse snorted irritably, standing up.
"We overslept! We must make haste to Weathertop!" I saddled her frantically while she waited in the snow.
This is really cold... she complained, lifting her hooves.
"We'll be out of the snow soon enough, Caronai." She needed to stop arguing.
But I'm hungry...
"Stop whining! Here..." I quickly pulled another apple out of the bag. "Eat quickly, we can't afford to lose any more time!" It was already past morning, and we'd fallen asleep late evening. After she'd finished her snack, I jumped on her back and we tore along the trees, for hours until we reached the foggy marshes near Weathertop.
I'm not going any farther! I'm not getting my legs all muddy, plus they'll get stuck!
"I got it from here. Thanks, Caronai." I murmured to the horse, and splashed through the wet, peaty ground myself. The outline of Weathertop was barely visible, and I heard the stomping of hooves in the distance. Oh, no...
"My father's men..." I said in horror. I jumped over the stones and piles of slush in the bog, smashing along the reeds. "I'm coming, Anodien. Wait for me, please!"
The horses drew closer, snorting and pounding the ground.
"Come on, come on!" I focused every bone in my body on beating the soldiers to Weathertop. The ledges to the top had crumbled, and I had no choice but to scale the rocks. I tore the knives out of their scabbards and dug them into the stone. Little cracks in the hill made it easier to get a grip, but I was still running out of time.
"Halt!" My heart sunk at the sound of the commander. "Stop! Stop, I say!" I couldn't quit, not now. "Archers, at the ready!"
"Arandur!" I gasped, hoping he would recognize me. "Arandur, it's me, Legolas!"
"Tricks! Lies! You've cloaked yourself in the disguise of the prince! I know for a fact that he's in Rivendell!" Rain began to fall from the sky, at first soft, but gradually growing heavy. I slipped, the icy rain loosening my grip. But still I pressed on, desperate to reach Anodien.
"Men! Catch up to the witch!" Arandur roared, and I heard the pattering of footsteps as they jumped off their horses and charged through the marsh. My hand finally scraped the top, and a blast of thunder and lightning startled me.
"Augh!" I clenched my teeth and pulled myself up, my fingernails bloodied and dirty. My hair was soaked, and the I couldn't remember a time I was so cold.
