Happy New Years! On the Seventh Day of Christmas, Legolas said to me...

something really awesome that made me cry and scream!!!!

A/N: This story has no real connection to the SoS storyline, but there is still something that happens in here that *justmight* be in SoS as well!... Yeah, okay. We all know it'll happen in there, too... it's obvious.

ATARPOV

The next morning, I was rudely awoken by a messenger of Thranduil.

"King Thranduil requests your presence, King Atar." He bowed low and handed me a yellowed parchment.

ATAR-

THERE ARE MATTERS THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED AND RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY. MEET ME IN THE DINING HALL AS SOON AS YOU RECEIVE THIS NOTE.

THRANDUIL

...........

"Outrage! Scandal!" Thranduil roared, pounding his fist on the table. He'd demanded we speak in privacy, but I was pretty sure every Elf within a hundred miles could hear this.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I asked, my ears ringing from the volume.

"Your daughter has taken to using witchcraft upon the court, including my son!" He paced around the room, boots clicking with each heavy step.

"Excuse me? Would you care to repeat that little comment?" The King of Mirkwood was held in the highest regards, but to accuse Anodien of such...

"Your little siren has tempted my son and warped his mind!"

"Upon what proof do you have to charge Anodien of such debauchery?"

"She's used magic irresponsibly in the past, hasn't she? Isn't it reason enough to know how many men have fallen at her feet by command? I have it on good authority!"

"When did Thranduil the Just abandon reason for madness? Have you actually seen my daughter enchant Legolas?" I was seething with anger.

"Outside, near the gazebo, they were both acting in a manner I've never seen in them before tonight. Are you truly saying that you heven't noticed Legolas hanging on her every word, constantly staying by her side?" He had a point. Before she came to this land, she'd never shown an interest in people, let alone men.

"They are two friends spending time together, Thranduil, that proves nothing of your senseless accusations! I seem to recall my daughter just as eager to be near him!" I argued, protecting her. What right had he to deny her innocence?

"She has wavering loyalty, Atar! Anodien desires power, and will stop at nothing to get it! You don't know her as well as you thought, for there are many claims that she dabbles with many men, disregarding honor and purity!"

"Are you sure of this fact? I asked suspiciously. I did not want to lose my temper and incinerate the Elf King, but he was looking to become an ash pile. Thranduil nodded without hesitation, and I stood up abruptly.

"I must go confront my daughter." I said formally, ending the conversation.

It was strange indeed, I thought. Anodien has never held interest for anyone until she came here. Could she only desire the power held by Thranduil's son?

THRANDUILPOV

I'd seen them in the snow, the witch-child cursing my son and bending his will. Legolas was not a tool to be used, and I wasn't going to let this fly over.

"I must go confront my daughter." Atar walked out of the room. I needed time to calm down, away from the others.

"Merry Christmas..." I muttered to no one in particular. The nearby forest glowed white with snow, and I decided to walk along the edge.
