It rained on the fourth day of staying at the safe house so Gabi and I decided we would rent movies and pig out on snacks.
"What are you two doing?" Carla asked
We were microwaving our third bag of popcorn for our movie session. We had snacks spread out on the island to take into one of the rooms.
"We're going to watch a movie." Gabi answered
Carla and I avoided conversation with each other. Whenever she spoke, there was always a insult towards me. After a few comebacks, she learned to back off.
"What kind of movie?"
"A scary one."
"Oh."
"Would you like to join us?" I asked trying to be nice
"Sure."
I hadn't expected her to agree but I was hoping that we could remain cordial since it was a movie.
We dumped all of our popcorn in a huge bowl. We gathered our snacks and brought them to a one of the many places that had a tv. In this particular room, there was surround system that would make the environment similar to a movie theater. We managed to cover the windows so that no light could gain access. We had covers from rooms to hide under. We rented the Conjuring 2 since none of us had seen the it before. Gabi sat in between Carla and I and held the bowl of popcorn in her lap so we all had access to it.
Twenty minutes into the movie, a few jumpy scenes occurred but nothing too scary yet.
"Why would they stay in the house?" Carla asked
"That's what I'm saying. Just leave." I said
"Would you two shush?" Gabi scolded
Carla and I quieted down but then the scary stuff started to happen. I screamed which made Carla scream and Gabi squeal.
"Sorry." I apologized
"Oh no, she needs to go." Carla said talking about the little girl on the screen
"Mom, that's her daughter." Gabi cried
"She has another one. She'll be fine." I put in
"You two are horrible." Gabi laughed
We finished the movie and watched another. Gabi chose Insidious 3 and Carla was not for it.
"Is this another stupid girl?"
"That's what horror movies are based on." I responded
"I guess."
Sure enough there was a female main character who caused the demon to arise. This movie also contained a few jumps and Carla and I constantly yelled at the screen. I remember watching one of the boring scenes before falling asleep against Gabi's shoulder.
When I awoke, it was morning and I was still on the couch with Gabi and Carla. They remained asleep as I stood up to stretch. I went into the kitchen and found Francesco making coffee.
"Buorgiorno." I greeted with a smile
"Buorgiorno."
I went to the fridge to find something to cook. I pulled out ingredients for a omelette and began cooking.
"Do you like pictures?" Francesco asked out of the blue
