Chapter two - Sapphire's POV

"Moooms" I whined. "Let's go now." "Don't have to be a rusher!" Mom said.
"Let's goooo."

"Hang on" mom replied.

As we stepped out of the house, I had a piece of toast in my mouth and I dropped it.

"NO! MY BREAKFAST!!!" I yelled.

"I'll buy you a Mcgriddle when we pass the mcdonalds. Now get in the car or we'll be late!"

We drove to the McDonalds then to school. I put the mcgriddle in my pocket and walked to the front door.

"Hey! Sapphire!" A girl with triangular blonde hair ran up to me.

Oh wait, peridot.

"Hey Peri. What's up?"

"Have you heard of the new kid here?" Peridot said excitedly.

"No, who is it?"

"I don't know. But it was a girl with a gem name!"

"Okay. I'll see her."

Peridot ran towards lapis and kissed her on the cheek. They were together, sapphire stayed single.

'Man, they look good together' I thought to myself, walking to the patio. As I walked towards a bench that I always sat on, I looked at a girl sitting on another bench near the chain link fence.

'Who's this?' I shrugged it off and I started to read my book. Maximum ride.

The bell rang and I finished my mcgriddle and threw the wrapper away. Mrs. Quartz had always been my favorite teacher. She always helped me with problems from love, to education, and my personal life.

I sat on my desk and took my notebook, pencil, and other essentials. We started class and I took notes.

About fifteen minutes passed, and a knock came onto the door. The girl.
It was the girl I saw this morning.

"I'm ruby."

"Welcome! Go ahead and take a seat." Mrs.Quartz said to ruby.

Ruby. That's a nice name.
