Lauren's POV

I walked around the city which I had  always dreamt about living in, snapping pictures of the people who walked happily along side one another. It was the only thing I could do well these days. Photographing what I wished to still have with Selena. It started a few weeks nights ago, but I did not want to accept it. I couldn't accept it because I didn't have any proof, and I could just bring it up and jeopardize our relationship-until four nights ago, that is.

FLASHBACK

I was in my living room, reading 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' and sipping on warm chamomile tea when I heard the sound of fumbling keys against the lock. I glanced down at my phone.

1:49 a.m.

My eyebrows furrowed. That's the fourth time this week. But That's not odd, right? It's due to the fact that she has been getting booked more often. She walked in and didn't say a word to me. Instead she headed straight towards the bathroom down the hall. Worried, I quickly got up on my feet and rushed behind her.

"Sel?" She jumped, and turned to face me. Her hair was slightly messy, and her blouse was badly buttoned up, and her coat was open.

"Jesus, Lauren! You scared me!" She placed a hand over her chest-and that's when I saw it.

"I scared you?! Do you know what time it is?!" I yelled. "You could've called, you know? I was worried sick!" Selena rolled her eyes

"I'm Sorry, mother." She must have noticed my eyes on her chest, and she quickly covered up the hickey with her coat. "I'm going to take a shower, do you want to sit in the sink while I do so too?" I looked to the ground. She didn't say anything else. She simply walked into the bathroom, locked the door, and opened the water.

FLASHBACK END

I shook my head to clear off the memory of that night. I never expected her to be the cheater type. Selena was not that type of girl when I met her, I'm sure of it. My feelings towards the brunet were strong, but I wasn't in love with her, maybe not yet.

I don't think I'll ever be.

I looked back into the view finder of my camera, and begun to snap pictures once more. I watched as a beautiful woman walked and sat in a bench in front of the Central Park's pond. I stopped, and lowered camera and watched her. She looked in my direction for a few seconds, smiled, and looked away. I had seen her. I was sure of it. I needed a picture of her. My eyes never left her, the girl on the bench, as I walked towards the graying, beige bridge, and slowly walked to the center of it. I stopped right in the center of it, and started to snap a few pictures of the view in front of me, slowly progressing towards the woman.

Discretion comes first, right?

When my view finder found her, I felt my breath get caught on my throat. Slowly, I began to snap a few pictures of her. The woman was dressed in a red coat, her hair loose, and eyes on the pond. I stood in that position, loosing count of the amount of pictures which I had taken of her. Had it been one? Two? Ten? I don't know, but it did not matter. I had pictures of the woman who had literally taken my breath away, and that's what mattered.

I then watched as she got up, and began to walk away to the left. I sighed, and began walking down towards the beautiful golden and red trees. The wind was cold, but calming.
