Chapter 3

Chapter 3~

Provincials is finally here! Eeeep! We filled onto the bus and we were off to Star Search Dance Company, that is an hour and a half away from here.

We got there and walked into the building, heads held high. We are after all the Elite Dance Academy Dancers. We walked to our dressing room, and our parents started on our make-up. Since my mom wasn't there, my sisters did it and my hair. Holly my make-up and Hillary my hair. I can get mine don in double time cause both my sisters are here.

Finally, after we were all ready we warmed up and ran through our dance.

"I'm looking for entry number 5" a woman called

"That's us" Emily smiled at her

"Okay good. You guys are next" she said and walked away. We headed to the stage, and once the other group was finished, it was our turn. Our starting position is us sitting on the ground with our legs folded around us, and our stomachs and heads facing the ground. (A/N idk how to explain the position I'm thinking of so just think of something lol)

The music started and we started our routine. Audrey, Britney, Jasmine and I did a split leap, Brandee, Brooke, and Paige did some spins, and well, your dance was really put together.

Our dance is about kids that don't know each other and don't know what the others are doing, but in the end we come together. Kind of like those cliché high school movies with the popular kids, nerds, goths, music kids, and art kids. Kind of like that. The acro dancers meaning me, Audrey and Jasmine, are the "popular kids", the contemporary dancers are the artsy kids, and the jazz kids are the music kids. There is 8 people in our group total. We all range in ages but we are all best friends.

I finished my back walkover landing in splits, and the song finished. Everyone clapped and the announcer spoke again and we walked off.

"That was awesome girls" Emily said hugging us all.

"Alright, Bev, Britney and Brooke change and run through your dance! Your category is coming up!" Emily said and they jumped into action, changing their costumes and taking all the pins and clips out of their hair, and trust me, that's a lot of pins and clips.

Finally, it's was time for my solo. I waited backstage running through my dance as I watched the other kids go.

"That was entry number 45 Home. Now please welcome to the stage entry number 78 Safe!" The announcer called. I walked onto the stage and stood in dance first position.

As the song's tempo progressed, I started with my acro moves. I did a back walk over, stopping in the middle of it and bringing my legs straight up so that I was in a handstand. I came down from the handstand and ran across stage, doing a split leap and the a front flip. When I landed my front flip, I brought my leg out in front of me, pointing my toes and bring my foot back into my knee. I did a spin and stepping out of it. I did a chin stand just as the music finished and I stood up, and smiled at the crowd.

"That was Leigh, entry number 78 Safe" the announce guys said and I walked off stage.

"That was awesome!" Emily cried and came and hugged me. I hugged her back and went to the dressing room with the other girls.

I pulled on my Elite Dance Academy jacket and we we waited for the awards ceremony. As we waited most of us who were finished for the day, took our hair out of whatever arranges outer family put them in. I took my hair out of the insanely tight French braid and put it in a ballerina bun on the top of my head.

"Audrey! Jasmine! You're next!" Emily called. We all rushed to back stage to watch and also their duet is the last performance before awards.

"Now on stage is entry number 49 Revenge" the announcer dude said.

They danced and we cheered them on whenever they landed the acro move properly or did the leap right.

"And that was number 49 Revenge by Audrey and Jasmine" the guy said.

"Third place in the junior group dance is entry number 9 Reflect by Star Dance Academy" the announcer said and a girl from that academy collected the award from another guy.

"Second place is number 4 Who You Are by Alberta School of Dance!" He said and a girl stood and got the award.

"And first place goes to entry number 5 What We do by Elite Dance Academy!" He exclaimed and I stood up to get the award. I looked to the crowd on my way back to the group and saw Emily giving us thumbs up.

"Alright. Our first place solo artist is........entry number 78 Leigh Colten Safe!" The announcer said. Everyone cheered and I stood up collecting my award.

"The finalists for the scholarship to London Academy of Dance are, Leigh Colton, Maddy Brooks, Danielle Jake and Skylar Peirs!" He said

I can't believe I won and I'm possibly going to a private school in London!!!! This is so amazing! This school is so hard to get into. You have to audition, then you have to take an exam in a school subject of your choice and then you have to audition again if you make the cut. A few girls from Elite tried out and only one made it out if the three that tried.

I hope I make it. Anything to get out of this house hold.

Sorry guys it's so short! I just really what to get this book to where I want it but I don't know how just yet.
