Okay, maybe he could live with regretting it. Raul was filled with nerves as he wore the cloak on top of a Drum horse. The horse was different than the Appaloosa that he was used to like Meadow. This horse was a male and very muscular. He patted the horse lightly, letting him know that Raul was going to be okay despite his nerves.
Glancing up, he looked at all the people over the age of sixteen that was participating in this race. Raul swallowed as he couldn't believe the numbers. Theron, of course, was unfazed as he sat on top of his horse. Most of the people there were like Theron – calm. The very few that was doing this the first time, like him, were nervous.
Raul couldn't believe that he was here. Actually participating. He knew if he gets found out, then it was all over and lots of trouble for him too. Taking a deep breath, he glanced up where everyone was lined up. He needed to calm his nerves as they'll be starting at any time.
Without meaning to, his eyes trailed to Theron as if he could find him anywhere. He wondered what he was thinking. Was there something wrong with trying to deepen their bonds or did he simply want to fuck him? Don't get him wrong – he would love a fucking but he doesn't want to be a side thing either. He wished that he would address his concerns instead of pushing on his desires onto him.
Raul sighed and rubbed the back of his head. Guess he doesn't have a choice. He would have to at least beat Theron, which won't be easy since Theron was aiming to be first place probably. Before he could have a second thought, the whistle rang through the air this time to start the race.
Giving a small cluck of my tongue and a light heel into the horse's side, the horse took off instantly with Raul on it. Raul could feel that the horse was competitive, so he let the horse decide the direction to go with a few nudges here and there for suggestions. Raul was just thankful that so far everyone has been respectful towards each other on their first few minutes of the run. He couldn't really focus on anything besides the people in front of him. Everything seemed like a blur.
Though, because it was all a blur, it took only a second for the horse race to change. Now, everyone was playing the crowding or trying to shove the riders off the horse so that they were guaranteed a win. Raul nearly being missed being shoved off by someone next to him, but gratefully the horse was quick on instincts.
They were going through the forests which made things harder for everyone, including the horses. Raul lowered himself across the horse to avoid branches as much as he could. Some people were knocked off their horse because of the tree branches because it either surprised them or literally knocked them away.
The sharp turn was coming up. Raul felt his heart picked up as he realized he reached the half-way point. At this moment, he didn't care how many places he was in. He just simply cared that he was in the games and made it as far as he could. While the horse slowed down to make its' sharp turn, someone else came by him super-fast.
He felt instant horror. Going that fast on a sharp turn didn't lead to good things. Everything felt slowed motion when the horse lost control of its footing as it rammed itself into Raul's horse. The rider shoved Raul away as well. His eyes widened when he realized that they were all falling down.
His breath stopped. He didn't realize they were by a cliff with that sharp turn. Frightened yet prepared for the worst, he closed his eyes tightly and wished that he survived. If he didn't, all he knew was that he regretted not getting a taste of Theron.
