Chapter 10: They're Back!

Jasper's POV

Heaven...I'm in heaven. To feel my mate in my arms once again, it's sheer heaven. I have been so miserable and empty without her in my life. Now, I have her in my arms again. I inhale her scent into my nose, breathing her into my soul. I missed her scent. The feel of her warm skin against my fingers. Her soft hair. Her beautiful emerald eyes. Her smile. Her voice.

"Jasper." Her voice cracks as she wraps her arms tighter around my neck. Holding on to me. Hold me forever, my darlin'. I'm never letting you go again.

She pulls away, but not too far, "How are you here? What are you...I...I can't." Her voice breaks.

"Shh, I'm here, my darlin'. I'm never leaving you again." I whisper.

Suddenly, I feel rage radiating off of her and I feel her shove me away and slap me! She glares at me with such betrayal and pain.

"How could you leave me like that, Jasper! You left me alone and in pain! You never even told me you were leaving me! How dare you do that!" She sobs, but she struggled to hold back her tears. I could see the hard battle inside of her. I never seen her cry before, and she still wouldn't let herself cry. Not even for me. In a way, that hurt me.

I gently pull her back into my arms, "I'm so sorry, my love. I never wanted to leave, but Edward convinced me that I should. To protect you and Bella.

She whimpers against my chest and holds on to me, "Never leave me. Please! I can't take it anymore."

"Never, my love. I'm staying." I say determinedly. And I mean it. Screw what Edward wants. I'm staying with my love. Forever.

She quickly pulls away and turns her back towards me, wiping her face frantically. With a sigh, she turns back towards me, "Promise?" She asks softly.

I nod, "I promise."

She finally gives me that smile that I missed so much, but, suddenly, it drops, "Is...he...here as well?" She asks.
I shake my head, "No, he doesn't know that we're here."

"'We'?" She asks.

"Alice is downstairs with Bella. Alice was frantic when she saw the vision of Bella. What the hell was she thinking of diving off that cliff?" I ask furiously.

She shakes her head, "I don't know. She's been literately going insane without Edward. She's been having hallucinations about him. Especially, when it came to the most dangerous situations." She explains.

I sigh deeply in sympathy, "And you?"

She scoffs softly, "I've been no better."

I suddenly snap my head towards the kitchen, growling lowly. Werewolf!

"Jasper?" She asks with caution.

"There's a werewolf." I snarl.

She sighs in relief, why relief? "That must be Jake. He's a friend of ours."

I turn to her with a furious look, "You two have been associating with werewolves?!" I exclaim. "They're not good company. They're known to lose control with their tempers."

"Jake would never hurt Bella. He cares about her too much. And besides, when you guys were gone, we needed all the protection we could get. Victoria is here!" She whisper shouts at me.

My eyes widen in fury and shock, "Victoria? Why is she still here?" I ask.

"An eye for an eye apparently. Edward killed James, she thinks its only fair if she killed Bella...and me." She says softly.
