Third Person's POV
(Katherine's Outfit)
(Dax's outfit)
Katherine continues to stare out into space from her balcony. Feeling the wind blow against her cold skin, hearing the trees rustle against themselves. Nothing meant anything anymore in this life. Without Jasper, it felt like she was dying all over again in that hospital 10 years ago. Alone and in pain, with no end. People say it doesn't hurt when you die. But, it does. It does. Katherine looks up and watches the tress dance with the wind. Whispering to her softly. The Earth wanted her to keep going, for herself. Not for Jasper. Live...for herself. Maybe Jasper will come back...maybe he won't...but she can't just sit here a wallow in her own self-pity for long.
Katherine turns her head as she hears her door sliding open and seeing Dax sit next to her. Sighing deeply, he lies back against the chair.
"We can't keep doing this, you know." He says.
"Yeah. I know." Katherine sighs.
"I have a feeling she's coming back. I know it. They will be back." He says.
"Maybe." Katherine rests her head on her wrist.
Dax turns and looks at her, patting her knee, "They will. We're mates. You can't run from your fate. I don't believe Alice left by her choice. Nor Jasper. I think Edward talked them into leaving. This was against their will. He's dead set against Bella becoming what he is. After what happened at her birthday...to him, that's all he needed to see."
Katherine frowns and looks over to him, "Think she's gonna be one of them in the future?"
Dax shrugs, "It's what she wants. She wants to be with Edward forever. She loves him that much."
"And yet, he wants her to live like a fragile human." Katherine shakes her head.
"But, you know, Bella. She's stubborn. When she has her mind set on something, she goes for it." Dax says.
