Chapter 8- Lydia's pov
Why am I so scared? I know it is just a dream. But now I see a whole lot of people coming towards me. In amongst them are three familiar faces. I can't put name to face but they look very familiar. All the people at chanting "We will get you!" as they walk towards me. Then the devil turns around and they all go silent. I take this moment to look closely at the three familiar faces, I can see more clearly. There is: Skye, Charlie and Leo. What is going on? Why have they ganged up with the devil? What did I ever do to them? They smile at me in an evil kind of way. The Devil turns around and looks me up and down.
"We are friends to you, join us, no more fear, no more pain!" The devil says breathing right onto my face. What does he mean? The devil is not a friend, if anything the devil is an enemy. But it does sound quite nice. No more fear, no more pain! Those words remind me of a song. By the wonderful artists One Direction. I think the lyrics come from the song Gotta be you. I don't know. I just need to focus. The devil himself is offering me no more fear or pain. It is very tempting. I need more time. The people start chanting "Join us!". I really am tempted. But what will happen in the real world if I join the devil.
"No thank you, it sounded lovely and everything but give me one more day and I will tell you tomorrow what I have decided. Thanks for the offer."
"To polite dear, you can't join us. More fun for us then. Feel the fear, pain, horror. Feel all of it." The devil commands and with that everything disappears and I am back in my bed and awake.
Well that was bloody torture. God! I am never ever gonna sleep again. I am so glad no school today. If it was a school day I would just skip it. I never have, but after that dream I wouldn't mind skipping school.
I hop out of bed and into the shower. I try to push the dream to the back of my mind.
The warm water of the shower rushes down my back. It really does relax my tensed up muscles. After the shower I get dressed. Then I run down the stairs, shove my shoes on, grab a hoodie and my phone and purse.
" Lydi, is that you sweetie?" Mum shouts.
"Yeah it is. Mornin mum." I reply.
"Where are you going?" Mum says walking towards me.
"To the cafe. I'll be back by 8." I reply. It's only 6:30 but I do shifts there to earn a bit of money. Mum nods gives me a hug then says goodbye. I smile and walk out the door. I walk to the cafe, it's quite cold outside.
"Hey Lydia. Do you want to earn some extra cash today? One of the staff has just phoned in sick." The boss asked.
"Ok. How long do I stay? May I text my mum that I am doing extra hours?" I reply.
"Sure you can. Glad that you can stay. Stay until 2:30 if possible?" The boss says. She definitely seems glad I said yes.

*2:28 pm*
"Thank you ever so much for doing the extra work, dear." The boss smiles as I wipe the tables.
"Don't worry. I'm happy to." I reply politely.
I have been thinking about my dream all day. And I have come to a conclusion that someone has been playing tricks on my mind. But I don't know who.
