Chapter 6~ Charlie's pov
Today is the day. It is Friday the 7th of January 2014. I am literally so nervous right now. I go to school today, then this evening I'm going to London. I have never been to the O2 arena in London. I am so excited but nervous at the same time. I have no clue what to wear. I don't want to wear anything too formal because I'm not a very formal person, so I will probably just wear something casual like normal. It is quite hard to actually audition for this but I am just doing it to see what we can achieve. My goal is to just get through the auditions, I mean it would be better if we can get further, but I don't mind if we only get to round 2 then kicked out. I hope Leo doesn't quit last minute because he normally does if he is very nervous like at the talent show last year at school. I hear my phone go off. There is a text from Leo, I wonder what he wants. I open the message.
'Leo: Help me Charlie. I am so scared. The judges probably won't even like me. I don't think we should do this....'
No this can not happen. Just like I thought. Leo wants to back out of this, well he won't.
'Me: Leo, don't panic. The judges will love you! I'm a little nervous, but we can't stop now. Just believe in yourself! X'
I hope my message gets across. Leo is so silly. He panics about the smallest of things. Trust me everything will be fine. I go to school. Lydia has started to seem slightly suspicious. It's probably where Leo is acting so scared. The day goes by so quick. I'm actually so nervous by the time I get out of school. I say bye to Lydia, then I take Leo back to my house where his mum is waiting for him with his clothes. We run upstairs and change.
"Gosh Charlie, I am so nervous." Leo says.
"Me too man. I just know everything is going to be fine." I reply giving us both a hint that things are going to be fine. I hug him then we run down the stairs and out to the car where our mums are waiting. It takes about 1 hour and 45 mins to get there. We go backstage and meet all the backstage crew. They are all lovely. Then we get called and Ant and Dec show us onto the stage.
"Hello boys, what are your names?" Alesha asks.
"I'm Charlie Lenehan and this is my best friend Leondre Devries together we are Bars and Melody." I say.
"How old are you?" David asks.
"I am 13 and Charlie is 15." Leo says. Yay, he spoke. I thought he wasn't going to speak.
"Well good luck boys!" Amanda says. I've been waiting for this to happen for a long time. Now I am finally on this stage in front of the judges and it actually make me so nervous but excited. Then I hear the familiar rap. Then I sing the chorus. Then we finish the song.
"Wow, that was amazing!" Amanda says crying.
"Absolutely gorgeous!" Alesha says with tears in her eyes. Then something incredible happens. Simon presses the golden buzzer!
"Oh my god, thank you so much!" I shout before hugging Leo.
"We did it!" Leo said.
"Well done boys. You were truly amazing. If you didn't see, Amanda here was crying at how lovely it was." Simon smirked as Amanda playfully punched his arm.
"I'm sorry that I show some emotion. It was amazing." Amanda said, the first bit aimed sarcastically at Simon. They all congratulated us and we walked off. Wow, let me process what just happened. First we sung and then everyone said good things, Amanda and Alesha were crying because it was so good and then blooming SIMON COWELL pressed the golden buzzer. Wow my life is wonderful.
"Charlie, we did it!" Leo shouted. "We got through to the next round!" He is so glad that we got through.
"What did I say? Everything was going to be fine, and everything was more than just fine, it was perfect!" I say. I can't wait till Britains Got Talent starts on the TV. It will be so good to watch this moment over and over again. The judges were so much nicer than I thought they would be. I thought they would judge us as we are only young kids and still have an education to do, but they had no intentions of judging us. I'm sure, if they were going to say we couldn't stay because of education, then Simon definitely wouldn't have pressed the golden buzzer. We then go home. Leo is staying at mine the night because of us needing to celebrate.
"Wow, that certainly was an excellent experience. Best night ever!" Leo smiles as we change into pyjamas. That was fun, it was the most fun I've ever had.
"Yeah it was amazing." I laugh.
"I still can't believe Simon pressed the golden buzzer!" Leo whisper-shouts as he climbs in the sleeping bag.
"Yeah I was literally thinking 'Is Simon insane, he just pressed the golden buzzer?' Then I realised it was actually happening." I say tucking under my duvet.
"Well I'm tired, I'm gonna get some sleep." Leo says. Within seconds he's asleep. I wish I could fall asleep that fast. I lay there thinking about the future. There is such a great future for us if the rest of BGT goes well for us. We would have loads of fans. But I can spot one huge problem. One problem that Leo hasn't even considered. We might loose Lydia to fame. I don't want that happening, our friendship with Lydia is to precious to us. I can't ever let us forget about Lydia.
