January 1st

Dearest,
Jimin threw his New Year's Party, and for him, it was a success. I stayed in my room and wrote a few revisions for an essay I have due after break. His friends would not stop walking into my room. Girls with guys, guys with guys, and girls with girls. I guess they thought mine was just another room to hookup in. It was a rude awakening, to say the least.
I also met Yoongi for the first time. Why Jimin invited Yoongi is beyond me—because Yoongi brought his new beau, Hoseok. Boy, were those two nice to look at. When I would come out of my room to get drinks, they would be all over each other. It really was a view, the way Yoongi's hands would tangle in Hoseok's hair. It almost makes me miss my past relationships.

Yours, Taehyung.

"Tae!" Jimin shrieked from our restroom, at the end of the hallway between us, "NEED. MOUTH. WASH!"

"What?" I asked, running out of my room and storming into the bathroom unannounced, where Jimin was face-down in the toilet bowl. It was too damn early for this.

"Jesus!" He shouted at me, shielding his face from the rush of light that beamed inwards when I opened the door," DONT YOU KNOCK?"

"Sorry!" I laughed, darting across the room to the cupboard and beginning to rummage through our bathroom supplies.

"I hate drinking!" Jimin groaned, spitting into the toilet water.

"You do it so often, that's sort of hard to believe," I mumbled, finally settling on a green bottle of mouth wash.

"You sound like Yoongi," he scoffed.

"Don't say that," I moaned, crouching down beside Jimin and rubbing his back, "Do you want me to go out and get you anything?"

"Uh," Jimin asked, resting his head on the bowl's brim, "Aspirin, Gatorade, and a frozen pizza—if it's not too much to ask."

"I offered, silly," I chuckled, ruffling his hair, "Medication, electrolytes, and greasy food. You cure hangovers like everyone I know."

"It's foolproof," Jimin insisted, gagging once more.

"Alright. I'll be back in like fifteen minutes. Take care of yourself!"

"I will," he said as cheerfully as he could manage, turning and flashing me a quick, closed-mouth smile as I shut the door behind me.

"I'm home!" I shouted with bags of groceries in my hands. Sure, maybe it was overkill to get him the highest dosage of aspirin, a twelve pack of Gatorade, and three DiGiornos pizzas—but what can I say...

Jimin didn't formally answer. A tiny groan seemed to erupt from the couch, and when I walked behind it looking down, he was curled up in a blanket, like a caterpillar.

"This is precious," I giggled, as he opened his eyes.

"You're so loud," he groaned in reply.

"I guess I'll eat all of this pizza myself then—"

"NO!" Jimin interjected, "I'm sorry. Talk as loudly as you want," he smiled.

"There you go," I patronized, taking a sport drink out of the bag and plopping it onto his chest.

"You're the best," he said, holding the bottle above his head, "And it's the yellow kind!" he grinned, "That's my favorite."

"Happy new year," I smiled.

"Happy new year," Jimin replied, holding out the Gatorade in cheers, "If you make me a pizza right now, I will share it with you," he bargained.

"How compelling," I replied, picking up the plastic bags and walking across the room to the oven, "It'll be ready in thirty."

"Thank you," Jimin smiled, "You're my favorite."

"How sweet," I said, in a tone that sounded more genuine than it should have.

"I love you," he mumbled opening up the aspirin bottle I left beside him, and taking one too many pills.

"I love you too—" I replied casually, before halting in realization.
