{PART ELEVEN}

The whole ride was silent and awkward. Eyanna remained silent as she stared out the window. Madame Elisa glanced sternly at her daughter. She couldn't believe the improper scene she just saw. She never thought she would ever see Mheyanna with a guy like that. He didn't even seem that decent and now, Madame Elisa regretted not knowing his name. She wanted to tell him to leave her daughter alone. Mheyanna deserved better, she thought.

Eyanna couldn't help but feel sorry for Connor which is surprising because she never thought she would ever worry about him. The 'confrontation' her mother did was embarassing enough but then, she never cared what others thought of her. She stopped caring a long time ago. It just made everything else easier to bear.

"I can't believe you were out with boy, Eyanna," Madame Elise says in a hard tone. "I thought you were mature enough but then I find out that you're still a child."

Eyanna sighs. She turns to her mother.

"Mama, he was just a friend," Eyanna explains. "Secondly, I'm not a child. I'm a teenager which generally states I'm old enough to make my own decisions because I'm turning into an adult."

"You were out with him all night! You made us all worried," Madame Elisa exclaims. "That just proves that you are not fit to make your own decisions yet."

"Wow, you actually cared," Eyanna says in a little too distasteful manner. "It was not like we eloped together. It was dark and I had a hard time going back home. He helped me. Eventually, we got tired then fell asleep."

"In the streets?!" Madame Elisa yells then sighs deeply. Eyanna sinks into her seat.

"Wait till we get home," Madame Elisa. "We're going to have a very long talk."

"I don't need your scolding," Eyanna mutters.

"Your father's home," Madame Elisa says. Eyanna's eyes widen.

"What? I thought he was in a business trip in Peru," Eyanna says.

"Well, he came home because you went missing last night!" Madame Elisa says. "I don't know what to do with you, Mhyenna."

You never do, Eyanna says in her mind.

"If you don't want to get a scolding from me, you'll get it from your father," Madame Elisa says.

"What if I run straight into my room and lock the door?" Eyanna says, looking out the window.

"That is not an option," Madame Elisa says in a calm voice. "You are going to have a talk with us whether you like it or not. End of discussion."

Eyanna groans then leans back on her seat. The buildings were blurry as they whizz by them. It seems like they were going faster and faster. She felt her heart drop and palms sweat. She tightly closed her eyes for a moment then opened them again, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

That was not a good memory to remember, Eyanna says in her mind. I hate cars.

Connor felt like a criminal. He was in his father's car with a police car behind them.

His only thought was of Eyanna and if she was alright. Connor shuddered slightly as he remembered his not so favorable encounter with Eyanna's mother. She was not what he was expecting. Eyanna's mother was a sophisticated looking woman and Eyanna was sure as hell not her mother. He laughed at the thought of Eyanna clad in a business-like attire. It just doesn't fit. He never thought that Eyanna was actually a high-class breed of girl. It certainly doesn't show. The revelations of the morning made the gears in his head turn and he can't help but be more curious of Eyanna Jefferson.
