Heros of Houston (a Heroes of Olympus fanfiction)

I knew what was happening about as soon as the wall exploded inward. There was screaming and total confusion as everyone ran to the door. Everyone but me. I ran to the opposite corner and watched as some giants climbed through the giant new hole in the wall. Of course, it had to be giants. I cursed under my breath and unclipped my charm bracelet. It was fashioned like my older sister, Thalia's, shield but mine's a sword. The giants zeroed in on me almost immediately so I got battle ready, hoping that I wasn't as out matched as I thought I was.

"Lookie here, little girl wants fight." The biggest one said as he stepped closer to me. My resolve didn't exactly grow when faced with his rotting corpse breath.

When he was in range I swung my sword at him and managed to cut his arm. He grabbed it on my next swing and pulled it out of my hand. They all advanced towards me and I couldn't help screaming involuntarily.
