Grace's POV:
I squeezed Jame's shoulder as we here our parents having a screaming match at each other. I whimper and James turned around to hug me. "It's going to be okay," James mumbled to me."What if it's not..." I whisper in fair.
"I'll make sure nothing happens to you, okay? We will always be together no matter what," James promised. I nodded my head and a tear slipped down my check. James whipped my check. "Hey, everything will be okay? Right? Think positive!" James says, it's not that easy. He kisses the top of my head. And sighs.
"James," I whisper then I hear a slap. "James," I say a little louder. James is shaking. "James!" I hiss trying to get him to stop shaking.
"Sorry, Gracie," James whisper with hurt in his voice. "What was that slap?"
"I've never loved you!" the sound of my mother's voice shouts in the kitchen. As James and I were in the lounge sitting on the couch listening to their conversation.
I never loved you.
That was the worst lines my mother had ever said to my father. "Yeah! Well, maybe we weren't meant to be! I moving to America with kids!" Dad yells.
Are we leaving?
I didn't have many friends anyway, it'll be a good time to have a new life. Correction: I didn't have any friends.
James was my all time best friend. We were so close, we never fought.
Dad comes in the lounge with a red face. "Get your gear together kids! Where're going to America!" Dad says frustrated.
I gaped as James let's go of the hug. "America?!" James says shocked.
"Dad I-" I started but he cut me off.
"Please, Gracie. James, just go pack your stuff?" Dad asked begging. We nod our heads and went up the stairs. Dad left.
"Gracie! Wait," mom calls.
I walk towards her going back downstairs. "Yes, mom?" I asked. She then hugs me.
"I can't believe he's black mailing me and taking you, away from!" She murmurs quietly.
"He's what?!"
"Darling, shh, that's another story for another time," mom tells me. "Now be good; I will text you every day, and I will make him fly you back here to Nelson, New Zealand and see me again," she whispers in my ear. I nod.
"Good, because I don't think I can survive without you," I too her.
"Now go pack," she says I nod my head. I kiss her check.
"You are the best, I love you!"
-
I felt someone putting me down. I open one up and saw James there. He smiles, I smiled tiredly back and leaned on two elbows. "Where are we?" I asked in confusion.
"We're in America, in our new house," James answers. My eyes popped wide open. I remember getting off the plane and hopping into a taxi, I guess James bought me up. I started to get up myself. "No! Gracie, you look really tired; I'll grab your bags! I'll be as silent as possible, I promise,"
I smiled thankfully at James. "Thanks, I owe you," I promised him.
"Just get some rest, okay?" I nodded and fell back on the bed- I don't have any sheets, a blanket or a pillow, oh well. It's warm enough.
-
"Hey, James?!" I yelled the next moring as I had finshed making up my new bed. I could hear him shouting something behind my closed door. I went other to the door to him and opened it so I could hear. "What?!" I yelled.
