New Years Day. New Year's Day. New Year's Day.
I was woken up at 7:30am, early for holidays but yeah. I rubbed my eyes to get my vision clearer, I can never see after I just wake up. Once my eyes were better, I got out of bed, grabbed my towel that was hanging on my chair and headed for the bathroom to showering and brush my teeth.
I put on my Adidas cigarette pants and white Adidas tshirt. I got my Adidas SnapBack and put it on my head backwards after tying my wavy black hair into a ponytail.
You can see how much I love Adidas, and I really do. I grabbed a pair of (not Adidas) socks and skipped downstairs.
Jarron, Zach, and Dexter were sitting at the dining table, eating. I grabbed a bowl, emptied out the cereal box, and poured some milk on top and quickly ate it. Time for chores next. The sooner and quicker I do it, the sooner I will be free to do what I want.
I absentmindedly did my work, becoming used to it. Whistling 'All Night' by the Vamps.
In a few more days, I'll be going back to school. The high school that all my brothers went and are going to. What am I to expect? I haven't been to a public high school before, only an all girls boarding school. Mean girls, bad boys, drama, loads of homework are what I am expecting. And I hope that I won't get caught up in all the drama that will happen.
"Let's go!" Adrian shouted, we were playing football in the field that evening. The teams were Dylan, Jarron, Adrian, and I, and Kieran, Zach and Jaden, Dexter. It wasn't very fair but it still worked. The score was 2-1. My team leading.
Sooner or later, the Squad joined our game.
"What's the score?" Greg asked.
"3-2" Adrian answered him. Greg, Jacob, Brian, Christian and Ming Xin were my brothers long time friends, they would always hang out with us and play football with us, so they kind of became my friends too. Best friends despite being almost 2 years older than me.
You see, I never hung out with girls. I know there are some decent ones out there, but where I live, there were none. So I wouldn't care about them.
"Ming Xin and Jacob join us." Adrian said, gesturing to our team. They nodded and walked up to us. The others joined the other team.
"Where's Nickson?" Ming Xin asked.
"He's riding," Kieran shouted back from the other end of the field.
"He went to get some supplies from town," Adrian added.
The game was lit. Our team ended up winning.
The Squad hung around in our house to count down until midnight for the new year. Courtesy of Mama for inviting them.
"Little sister," Jacob said
"Stop calling me that" I snapped
"Have you become all girly and dolled up after boarding school?" I elbowed him in the stomach and continuously hit him.
"This is the part where I step in as the peace maker." Ming Xin stepped in. He pulled me away from Jacob who looked as frightened as a child when they see a ghost.
"Kit get up. It's almost time for the countdown." I rubbed my eyes and propped myself up with my elbow. I had fallen asleep on the couch in the basement. All the boys were still here, playing Xbox. I looked at the clock,11:30pm. Glancing around the basement, I saw pizza boxes everywhere, some were empty and some still had pizza in them, most of my brothers were here, excluding Adrian and Dexter, and canned drinks were scattered everywhere.I sighed, got up, grabbed a piece of pepperoni pizza and sat back down on the couch.
"Don't tell her what happened to that." Ming Xin said, pointing to my pizza. My eyes widen for a split second before realising that they were just kidding and trying to get to me.
I shrugged and took another bite. "It's not like Prince charged in and took a good lick of the pizza." My eyes widen again and my jaw drops.
Prince was our golden retriever.
"Are you serious?" I asked, ready to spit out the bite I just took.
"Well, yeah." He added. I instantly spat it onto an empty pizza box and growled at Ming Xin. He put his hands up in surrender and shrugged. I looked at everybody else to see if he was telling the truth.
"Prince actually came in and licked that pizza." Christian murmured. I frowned.
"Ew ew ew blek blek blek, dog saliva." I shivered at the thought that I have gotten the germs Prince had.
"10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" Choruses throughout the front yard. We all shot some fireworks and played with sparklers and pop pops. I glanced over to the opposite house, it was all dark, either nobody was home or they were sleeping already. Mama had invited them over to our house for New Years, but the lady said they couldn't make it. Rude.
Jill made some chocolate cake, actually, I have no idea what foods people eat during new year. But who cares, Jill's chocolate cakes are bombz, best ever.
Oh yeah, Jillian was also there, sitting in a foldable chair, gawking at Dylan and Zach working the fireworks. Of course she didn't have anything better to do. Brian brought up a game of frisbee later on, we played that until about 2:00am.
Soon the guys piled up in Jacobs pickup truck and drove away, after thanking Mama of course. Mama made all of us help her clean up the mess we had made. I absentmindedly picked up all the cans and threw them in the recycling bin, thinking about the past year that went by in a blink of an eye.
Hard to believe I'm still surviving after coping with hundreds of girly girls for 2 whole years. I made friends with only one girl, Madeleine, through out the entire 2 years. She was the only girl there that I could stand.
When I was done, I shuffled up to my room, shut the door and plopped down on my bed. I was really really tired but really sweaty. I picked myself up and lazily walked to the bathroom and cleaned myself up. I wore my taco pj pants and a t-shirt and lay flat on my bed, checking my snapchat.
