The lunch bell rang. I walked out to my locker to chuck my books in there. Kieran was waiting for me at my locker,"How was it?" He asked me,
"Okay I guess," We started to walk to the canteen while I ranted about the homework I got and it wasn't even the end of the school day yet. We always brought our own lunch, so we sat at the closest table and started eating.
"Oh look, it's Ciara," I told Kieran "She's new."
"Oh," he said indifferently. "I told you," he gave me an unamused look.
Ciara held her tray and scanned the canteen looking for a place to sit. Megan Wilson already fitted in and sat at the cheerleaders table. Ciara and I made eye contact, she smiled and resumed looking for a place to sit.
"Well call her over, you idiot!" Kieran said disbelievingly at my ignorance.
"Oh, okay. I didn't realise." I called her name, she heard and came over.
"You can sit here. But if you are the squeaky high-pitched kind of girly girl, you're out." I warned her. Kieran looked at me with an even more disbelieving face and then hit me on the side of my arm.
"Kit! Sorry about her, she just hates girly girls. Don't take anything to heart okay?" He turned and smiled at her. Ciara looked a bit flustered.
"Oh, ok, uh Thanks,"
"No problem, I'm Kieran."
"Nice to meet you. Are you two a couple?" She asked. I choked on my rice, if I was drinking something, I would immediately have spat it all out in her face.
"What?!" I exclaimed once I stopped choking. "No way! He's my brother!"
"Oh oh oh I see, sorry." She grinned sheepishly.
"Don't we look alike at all?" Kieran asked her. She slowly shook her head, as if examining us to look for similarities.
"Not really."
"There's another new guy," Kieran pointed out.
"Shall we call him over?" Ciara asked, kind of slowly, afraid I might burst out again.
"Who is he?" I asked"Its Cody," Ciara replied, I could tell she was surprised that I couldn't remember who he was. It's the first day of school, don't expect me to remember my classmates' names. Or ever.
"I knew that, just testing you," i scoffed; Ciara chuckled. I was going to say 'no, he can't sit here,' but Kieran beat me to it.
"Sit here Cody!" He waved his arms frantically, trying to make Cody notice him. Cody finally did and made his way to our table and sat down, giving Kieran a weird look. He did just wave his arms and shout for somebody who he didn't even know like a lunatic. I gave Kieran an unamused look.
"Look, it's Jeremy. Remember him?" Ciara's hazel eyes stared at Jeremy.
"Yeah," I said
"Can we invite over?" She looked at Kieran and I. It was our table after all. Kieran gave me a stern look,
"Fine." I grudgingly said. Ciara called him and he jogged over.
"Thanks for letting me sit here." He chirped, "I'm Jeremy," he looked at Kieran.
"Kieran," he said. "Good to meet ya."
"You look awfully familiar," Jeremy looked at Kieran and I.
"Hmm?" I arched an eyebrow, a bit confused. Jeremy snapped,
"Aren't you guys my neighbours? I live on 7th street."
